Here I was standing in an office. "This is mine." He said letting me in. "So for you it's easy. You can work at home or if you want here." I pointed at his desk. "Here as in your desk?" He nodded. "If it's disturbing you I can get you a new office." I shook my head. "No it's ok. That'll be too much work." He shrugged. "As you wish. Ok I'm gonna let you get yourself comfortable here. I'll come back later ok."
Now I was left alone in this huge office all by myself. I hesitantly sat on his chair and felt comfort. His sent was all over this room. Instead of getting up and running the hell out of here I sank deeper into the chair. I imagined all this meetings he must have done in this room. All these deals where he negotiated. I turned on the laptop he had give me. Didn't have to be a branded thing did it?
I sighed logging in. I can't believe here I am working for my former boyfriend. Not boyfriend but a guy I had a good chemistry with. I wished I didn't take this job. All though this whole luxury is tempting I could be just working in a normal company. My mind wouldn't let me concentrate would it? I had just started the day and here I am not being able to concentrate.
So I decided to go into the cuisine. I mean that's also a part of my job checking if everything is fine. I entered the huge ass luxurious cuisine finding a bunch of people working. I approached a girl who was just giving orders to a cook. "Hey." I tapped in her shoulder. "Oh my god." She squealed. I grinned widely. "Fucking hell Hailey." I pulled her into a tight hug.
"Hey cousin." She chuckled as I spun her around. Hailey is my cousin. She's an year younger than me. She's my mom's brother's daughter. "It had been such a long time." She stated. "Ya it was. Ever since mom..." I trailed. "She nodded. "5 years is a long time hun. But glad to meet my big cousin again." She was just as small as me. We looked alike. More like blood sister's than cousins. She had my dark hair and hazel eyes.
"So what are you doing here?" She asked curiously. "I started working here." She grinned. "Oh my god. That's great. I work here part time as an assistant chef." I nudged her. "Chef huuh. Just like uncle." She smiled. "How's he anyways?" She shrugged. "Normal. Mom and him are travelling around the world since I'm going to college." I grinned. "Big girl. Anyways how about we catch up later? It has been a while."
"Sure. Meet me at the stairs." I nodded kissing her cheek. "See you Hails." That was kinda good and a nice push to continue working here. I mean my freaking cousin is here. Things couldn't be better.
Later...
"Fuck." I tried to send the mail to Stephen but not being able to. "God damn." I clicked multiple times before realising why and then sent it again. "Hey." Stephen came in pulling his tie a little loser. "Hey I'm almost done." He walked towards the coffee machine. "Take a chill pill would you? It's your first day Harriet." I shrugged. "So doesn't mean I can't work properly?" He groaned. "But you shouldn't finish the work for the 3 days."
I hadn't realised I worked that much. "I'm sorry." He handed me a coffee. "Thanks." He sat on a chair leaning back. "If you keep working like that I'll have to open up another branch." I chuckled. My phone rang. "Excuse me." I looked at number ugh. "Kat we got a lead on who might have the stocks." I sighed. "Good find it. I'll call again later." Stephen gave me a plain look. "What Harper was just telling me that she still hadn't found my one favourite dress." He rolled his eyes.
"Girls problems." I shrugged. "Anyways I just found out that my cousin is also working here." I sipped at my coffee. "Really what's her name?" He leaned forward drinking his coffee as well. "Hailey Khazanova." Yup my mother and uncle are Bulgarian meaning I'm also half. My dad is British. A good yet weird mix. "I've heard the name but don't know something right now."
"Ya anyways she asked me if we could go out later. So is it ok if I go home now?" He smiled. "Of course. Because logically you shouldn't come here for the next days but sure go ahead." I smiled back grabbing my stuff. "Thanks." After saying good bye I walked downstairs and Hailey was already waiting there. "Hey. Two options. We go out or we can go to my apartment." She pursed her lips. "I wanna rest so let's get to your home."
