The words tumble out of my mouth,
Before I can stop them.
I don't know what it was,
The way she said it,
It may have been the suddeness,
Or it may have been the sound of her voice,
That may have been the reason for my curiosity,
Or, at a time like this,
It may have been desperation,
The desperation to say something,
To start a conversation.
But whatever it was,
It doesn't matter, anymore.
Because I did it.
I've finally made my presence known.
I've said something.
I've taken the first step.
I see her jump before she turns around,
And I can't help but feel a bit embarassed,
Maybe I've done it all wrong.
Maybe I've scared her so much, she'll run away.
But she doesn't.
I can feel her gaze on me, as I look at my feet.
I force myself to look up,
To stare into those beautiful grey eyes of hers,
The ones I've fallen for.
And I can't help but think,
I could do this forever,
I could look at her like this forever.
The only question is:
Will she let me?
