Chapter 4: Lunch

Noelle was snapped out of her thoughts and froze, looking at her mother who was standing in the doorway. "She didn't come home last night and- Oh! There you are dear." She said walking over to Noelle's desk and looking down on her with disapproval as she dropped Noelle's lunch on her desk. "Where were you? You had me worried sick! I want an answer." Noelle looked down at her hooves. "A-At Kris's house.." Mrs. Holiday looked confused and a bit surprised. "May I ask why you where at Kris's house?" Noelle sighed. "I-I helped Susie with her homework..." When she said that she heard a loud 'gruff' from that back of the class, presumably from Susie. "Heh, they probably kissed or something." The long snake monster, Jockington whispered to Catty. The room broke out in quiet laughter. Everyone usually picked at and teased Noelle about this or anything she did, as you could have guessed she didn't have any friends. Suddenly a pencil shot quickly past Jockington and the sharp tip stuck to the wall next to him. "Ah!" The pencil almost hitting him, snapped him and everyone out of laughter. Mrs. Holiday walked over to him. "I'll have you know my daughter is an A plus student, who has NO interest in her or any girl for that matter. Right dear?" She said and turned to Noelle who continued to looked down at her hooves and nervously tapped them. "Yes mother.." With a look of approval she looked back at Jockington. "How about we take a look at your report card Jockington?" The snake monster looked down and silenced. Mrs. Holiday smirked and walked to the front of the class room. "Now, everyone listen to your wonderful teacher. If I hear anything from this class I will make sure those responsible are to be suspended, am I clear?" She said looking over the class. The whole room said "Yes ma'am." and Alphys was throughly impressed. "Be good everyone." Mrs. Holiday said before closing the door only to open it again a bit. "Noelle, you and I will be having a talk tonight." With that said she closed the door and only the sound of hooves clacking could be heard. Most of the class started whispering, most things about Noelle. The young dear slumped in her chair and knew she would never hear the end of this.

At the end of the period Noelle walked out of class with her head hung down and her lunch in one hand. "I helped Susie with her hooomework!" "Haha, Yeah her KISSING homework!" All the other kids laughed, mocked and teased her. Noelle could feel tears form in her eyes as kids spewed hateful slurs at the young monster. When she got to lunch she sat alone and ate her salad. Many kids just watched her and continued to laugh. Things only got worse as three monsters Snowy, Jockington and Berdly walked over to her. Berdly was in the front and looked down upon her. "For shame. I thought I had actually found someone as smart as me but turns out-" He said then leaning down at her. "she turned out to be a little fag." This was the most hurtful thing anyone has ever said to her. All the names and teasing she could handle to an extent, but this word bugged her the most. "Can't you just l-leave me alone?" "L-L-L-L" Snowy mocked while the other guys laughed. "Whaat? You don't like that word fag?" Jockington stepped in and said, Noelle choose to ignore him and continued to eat holding back tears. "Fucking disgusting." Monster kid said walking up behind Noelle. At first Noelle was surprised that her best friend, someone she trusted with her life was siding with them but then she remembered that MK was heavily religious, if you could tell by the cross he wore around his neck. "Hey, you hung out with the freak right?" Jockington said to MK who walked to the front side of Noelle to join the rest of the guys. "Yeah, she told me alllll about this little 'crush', heh." Berdly raised his eyebrow and grinned. "You heard that freak? The whole town is gonna know about-" "Know about what?" A loud and harsh voice said, practically booming over Berdly's. The little group turned around to face Susie herself who had her hands at her side balled into a fist. "This little freaks loooove for you." Berdly chuckled followed by the guys laughter. "Don't you think that's sick? Heh, the mayors daughter is a lesbian, have you ever heard something so ridiculous?" MK snarled before knocking off Noelle's food with his tail. "Say something bitch!" He said angrily. "Fuck!" Suddenly he winced and cringed in pain. "So?" Susie said, her claws digging into his shoulder making him cry out. "What's wrong with her being a lesbian?" Susie growled tightening her grip into him. "A-Agh! L-Let me go!" Susie only laughed. "Hah, look who is begging for mercy." Susie said menacingly as she pushed him down to the ground. He struggled, but with the help of the other guys he got back on his feet and growled. "This will be all over the paper! Fags!" Susie put on a large menacing smile and unhinged her jaw showing rows of sharp yellow teeth and Noelle simply watched the scene is terror. "It sure will..." She then moved her hair from her eyes revealing dark yellow eyes with a empty black pit in the middle of each of them. "Right next to the four missing kids.." In sheer horror this kids screamed and tripped over there own feet to run away from her. Susie laughed and moved her hair back and snapped her jaw back in place, then turned to walk away. "W-Wait Susie!" Noelle said immediately getting up from her seat and running toward the large monster. Susie stopped and sighed. "What do you want." Noelle looked down and a blush spread on her face. "Y-You.. didn't have to do that..." Susie shrugged and turned around. "Yeah, but I did. Not a biggie." Noelle looked up at her and held Susie's hand. "Yes it is! A-At least let me take you out to lunch?.." Noelle said smiling as she felt her stomach twist into a knot, scared of what Susie might do. Susie just looked down at her in disbelief. 'I just threaten to kill four kids! You have to be crazy to ask me out!' Susie said to herself. Either that or really love sick.. "Uh..." Susie was completely at a loss for words. Noelle's smiled turned into a sad one as she eagerly waited for a response questioning if it was the right thing to ask. "If you want??.." Susie said, her face turning a deep shade of purple. "N-Nice! If you have a good day for it then m-" Susie suddenly grabbed Noelle's arm and walked with her out the cafeteria. "Huh? Where are we going?" Noelle said tripping over her hooves. "Getting lunch." Susie said smiling down on her.
