Pulling up to the theater, Namjoon got out of the car and before you could move, he had made his way around to your side to open your door for you, always the gentleman. During the ride, you hadn't been able to stop your mind from wandering back to earlier and the challenge that was hidden behind Jimin's every word. From time to time, you'd seen Namjoon looking at you questionably as you still appeared to have something on your mind.
"So, what are we going to see?" You quickly asked before he could ask again what was wrong. You weren't trying to hide it from him, but you weren't ready to talk about everything yet. You were procrastinating, not wanting the fairy tale you were in to shatter. But you knew that you would have to talk to him after the movie, it would be even worse if you put it off for too long.
"How about a comic movie? Those seem to be pretty popular lately." He suggested, gesturing to a poster of one of the newer Marvel movies that had just come out. It was one that you had seen before, but the enthusiasm in his smile kept you from saying anything.
"Ah! Yes!" You pumped your fist in the air to showcase your excitement. Your love for the Marvel universe was completely real and you didn't mind seeing the movie a second time.
Namjoon beamed at your inner nerd. "Alright, it's settled then." He nodded. Without hesitation, he leaned down to grab your hand and lace your fingers with his as he began to walk with you towards the entrance.
As soon as he opened the door for you, your nose was filled with the scent of popcorn. Namjoon pulled on your hand as he almost skipped to the ticket booth. While he purchased your tickets, you turned and looked around. It didn't seem much different from an American movie theater but it was a lot nicer than any you had been to back home. There was a coffee shop on one side and a full blown bar right next to it. They really didn't want people to fall asleep during these movies.
The two of your argued over who would buy the snacks but you were stubborn and insisted that you pay for them since he bought the tickets. He caved, and you cheerfully filled your arms with popcorn and candy. You bought a large cup since he had insisted that you share a drink.
Food and drinks in hand, the two of you headed towards the clerk who would tell you where your theater was. A short, older woman scanned your tickets and smiled at you, making the wrinkles on her weathered face more prominent. "Date night, kids?" Namjoon nodded and smiled affectionately down at you, making your face heat. She directed you to theater six and the two of you made your way to the red marked door.
Okay, this theater was the nicest one you had been in, by far. It was even bigger than it looked from the outside, and the screen curved so that no matter where you sat, you would get a great view of the show. You could tell that the seats were going to be insanely comfortable just by looking at them. Each seat had a small table attached so that if you ordered actual food, you could set it down in front of you like a t.v. dinner table.
The seats were separated into groups of two and four and Namjoon had selected a pairing of two seats in the middle. You were right, the seats were so comfortable. The movie started after only two commercials. Namjoon must have noticed the shock on your face and he leaned over to whisper in your ear. "What is it?"
"Usually, I have to watch five hundred and eleven-ty twelve commercials before the movie even starts."
He laughed at your exaggeration, "We here in Korea don't like to waste time. We want things quickly." He shrugged as if there wasn't a double meaning in his words that made your stomach flip.
The movie played and you idly munched at your popcorn. However, before long you felt a large hand gently rest against your knee. You raised a brow and glanced over at Namjoon who offered you a sly smirk that almost made you choke on your snack. He seemed to notice how you were faintly caught off guard and decided to make it worse by winking at you.
