Lucy's eyes fluttered open, not because of the sunlight that has seeped through the window. No, it was because of this weird pressure on her chest. Eyes opening fully in alarm, she saw the color blue.
Blue? Blue hair? Was something small sleeping on her? With her eyes finally focusing she sat up, a little cat fell from its slumber on her chest to her lap, waking as it fell. It stretched in her la, its limbs reaching out in odd angles before blinking and looking up at her with large tired eyes.
"So cute..." Lucy felt herself mutter, reaching out and petting the cat who purred in response. Such an unusual color for a cat, not that Lucy had ever had one. Lucy looked around quickly, first noticing that the blanket was on top of her now, she was sure she fell asleep on top of it. Disregarding the thought, she picked up the cat and looked right into its eyes.
"You'll be my friend, right?" she asked, still depressed over everything that had happened last night. "I don't have many friends, but I'm sure we could be friends."
"Aye sir."
Lucy dropped the cat. Did it just speak? She rubbed her eyes roughly, maybe she was still dreaming. After pinching herself, she determined that she was in fact awake. Trying not to look at the cat anymore, Lucy looked around for Natsu again. She found him easy enough, he was sitting in a chair across the room slumped over his desk. The one small, circular window in the room leaked light down onto his sleeping face. Getting up from the bed, she attempted to walk over to him. Her ankle was still badly swollen, so it was rather difficult, but she managed to make it over to him. He was still holding a quill in his hand while papers and maps were under his arms and head. Giggling slightly, she looked at his hair; in the sunlight, it seemed even pinker than she originally thought. Sighing slightly she looked at his maps, well, the ones she could see.
There were various maps from different regions and islands, some had large X's on them, others were circled. Did the X's mean treasure? What a piratey thing to do. X marks the spot. She leaned in closer, there were other symbols too, but she couldn't see them under Natsu's arm...maybe if she just pulled lightly...
"Aye sir!" the cat shouted loudly from across the room. Lucy jolted upright, and Natsu's head shot up as well in alarm. His eyes found her and he stared at her for a few moments.
"Who are you again?"
"I'M LUCY YOU IDIOT!" she screamed at him, smacking a fist down on top of his head. Startled by her own actions, she pulled her hand away and was about to apologize when he started talking.
"Oh. could have fooled me, you punch like Erza," he grumbled, rubbing a steaming lump that had formed on his head.
"Aye, sir!" the cat replied to the statement.
"Ah, Happy! There you are!" Natsu laughed, looking over at the little blue cat. Lucy still refused to look at it, it creeped her out. Lucy had been through a lot lately, she was probably just hallucinating when the cat talked.
"What kind of name is Happy?" Lucy mumbled to herself.
"Hey, do you believe in magic Lucy?" Natsu asked, his eyes full of excitement.
"What, you mean liked pulling a rabbit out of a hat? Or sawing someone in half?"
"No, I mean wizards and mages."
"No, those are just children's stories," Lucy scuffed, what was he trying to say.
"Well, you should. Cause that there is a magical cat."
"No... it's not magical, it's just a blue cat for some reason."
"No, that cat talks, actually the real trick is to make him shut up. He flies too."
