do I really hate you? || Max and Harvey Mills

fifteen; affection

max pulled me closer to him and whispered asking if i was okay, i nodded and looked down at my feet. i didn't really like the attention that we were getting but i know it'll blow over soon. after we got our books max walked me to my class.

"are you doing anything this afternoon?" he asks

"if i was you'd know about it, i'm not really a social person, am i?" i laugh a bit.

"yeah i guess your right" he chuckles then looks at three girls who are staring at us, he looks back to me. "do you wanna come back to my place then baby?"

"yeah of course" max smiles.

"okay good, i'll see you at lunch then" i nod, he pecks my lips then walks away.

i watch him walk away trying to hide the smile that spread across my face. i quickly walk into my classroom and sit down, soon the girls from before sit on either side of me and one in front. i don't say anything and just look at my books.

"hi" a tanned brunette speaks up.

"hello" i give her a soft smile then look back at my books

"sorry to interrupt whatever you're doing but are you dating max? max mills?" her friend asks

"yep" i smile.

"how long have you been dating?" her other friend asks

"only a couple days, we've been keeping it kinda private"

"oh weren't you dating harvey before he left" the brunette spoke up again.

"y-yeah i was" i look down just at the mention of his name.

"why'd you break up?" she continues

"i don't really want to talk about it" although i am very much over harvey now i still don't really like talking about our relationship.

"do you still have feelings for him" the brunette asks again she's really interested in this and i'm beginning to wonder why.

"of course i don't, harvey was a great boyfriend but i'm with max now and i'm definitely not interested in harvey anymore" i don't really want to talk anymore but i don't want to be rude.

"you know their twins right they look the exact same" one of her friends but in.

"trust me they're very different, anyone who knows them knows that" i shake my head just thinking about how different they are and all the times they argue and fight but how whatever happens they will always be there for each other.

"you know max and i were talking not too long ago" i know max was talking to a couple girls before we started 'dating' but none of them were too serious so it didn't really matter, he would always say how he isn't really interested in any of them.

"that's great" i pretend to care getting really bored of the conversation.

"you know who i am right?" i look up at the brunette she looks familiar but i can't quite remember who she is and i think she catches onto my clueless expression "i'm erin"

"oh.." that's when it clicked max and erin have been off and on since erin came to this school, now i understood why she's so interested in our relationship.

"well i'm having a party on friday, max is already invited so you should come with him" she smiles and before i could respond the teacher walks in and gets our attention.

class honestly flew by really quickly and before i knew it i was with max at lunch sitting on his lap while he talked to his mates.

"princess, your being really quiet are you okay" max looked at me with concerned eyes.

"i spoke to erin.." i look max. "she told me to come to her party on friday with you"

"we don't have to go, i know you don't like parties anymore" he says in a soft tone.

"max it's fine, i'll be fine. let's go, it should be fun" i smile a little.

"baby i don't like when you use the word fine" i shake my head.

"max i'm serious it's okay, it's a party nothing too serious" i smile trying to show him it's okay and lean into him, he just drops the conversation and pulls me close.

it felt weird giving max this type of affection, especially in public. max and i would cuddle and stuff but it never meant anything, it was just us being best friends and now that we're cuddling in front of people and calling each other baby it obviously felt weird but it also felt kind of good. i don't know how long we're going to act like we're dating but i assume it will be till harvey gets off my back about me dating max or even better until he breaks up with katie which hopefully be soon, knowing my luck it'll be never.

i think i know where this story's going now but i don't really know so let's see how it goes
