“Who was that? Why didn’t you call me? Why are you covered in blood!?!” my mom yelled when I got in.
“Well mom, Austin had tried to kill himself and his mom called me to help them. How do you think that whole thing felt! Oh and don’t forget that nine-one-one pretty much just abandoned me. And when they finally showed up! UGH! Anyway David is one of the paramedics or something who volunteered to drive me home after I’d calmed down a little.” I said. I started to cry a little.
“It’s ok” my mom said calmly. I walked into my room on the second story and grabbed my PJ’s. That meant an oversized blue t-shirt and black sweat pants. I walked into the bathroom and hung a clean towel and took a shower. I needed to get the blood off of me. The chunks of dried blood on my arms and in my hair, even on my face they all went down the drain. I got out of the shower and wrapped my hair in the towel after I’d dried myself off then got dressed. Underwear, tank top, sweats. I took my hair out of the towel. It was damp still. I sprayed some product stuff on it then combed it out and scrunched it. No more blood in my chocolate brown hair.
I hung up the towel and walked into my room. I lie down in my bed. I was so tired but I couldn’t sleep. I tossed and turned for hours before I fell asleep.
He’s told me he was going to kill himself before. I didn’t think he was serious. I’d told him I’d die if he hurt himself. I’d always managed to talk him out of hurting himself. I turned over again. 1 am I finally fell asleep.
