You’re barely left alone after Ally leaves. The doctors are poking you with more needles than you can count. So tired. I just want to sleep. The nurse tells you about how special you are. About how you’re the buzz of the building. I don’t really care. Can I just sleep please? It feels like you have to ask permission for everything here. Things are blurry in your memory. One person tries to ask you about what happened but they look blurry. Why are you all burry man? You scrunch your eye brows. Can you leave maybe? I’d like to sleep cuz I’m like really tired. Whatever, I don’t care. I’m going to sleep. You close your eyes. The voices stop and you can finally rest.
Later someone nudges your arm. You force open your eyes. You see yet another nurse. She says something about how you need to be awake for this test. You comply. She doesn’t try to make any small talk which is nice. After she leaves you can’t fall asleep. Moving, even very little, hurts. So you just stare at the ceiling. After what feels like days the same nurse comes back. She comes back and is surprised that you’re awake. She asks how you’re feeling and you mumble an okay to her. She leaves. So bored. I want to do something. ANYTHING! And that is how you spend the night.
