VIII.

One and a half pizza pies later, the four singers were full and exhausted. Apparently eating takes a lot out of someone, especially after walking what felt like five million blocks to get to Leah's favorite pizza place. It was late afternoon by then and the streets had become significantly more crowded, if that was even possible.

They decided to head back to their hotel for a quick power nap and then go back out later once they had more energy. The walk back seemed impossible, so they just ended up calling a taxi.

When they got to their rooms, all four of them collapsed onto their beds. Well, actually, Leah didn't even make it to her room -- she'd just plopped herself down on one of the boys' beds and passed out. It turns out she was more tired than she thought.

While she was half asleep, Leah could vaguely hear the boys talking. She was trying to ignore it because she was so exhausted but the nosy side of her had to eavesdrop.

"Stop staring at her while she sleeps, Blake. That's just creepy," George whispered. His voice sounded close to her, so it was probably his bed she'd passed out on.

"I'm not staring at her," Blake snapped back. Leah could tell by the tone of his voice that he was blushing. How did she already know him so well after just meeting him a couple of days ago? They had been spending copious amounts of time together, after all. Like, more time than she necessarily spent with the other two boys. It wasn't a coincidence.

"Yes, you quite literally are," George responded. It was getting hard for her to pretend like she was still asleep. Leah's teeth sunk into her bottom lip as she tried to stay quiet and refrain from laughing.

Luckily, she didn't have to feign sleep for much longer, since the next thing she knew, she was clobbered with a pillow that was probably meant to be aimed at George but very clearly missed. Leah opened her eyes, sitting up on the bed. Making eye contact with the blonde sitting next to her, she raised her eyebrows. "What's going on?"

"N-nothing," Blake replied, trying his best to not let his voice falter but failing miserably.

"Okay..."

"Hey, we should film a cover!" Reece piped up from the armchair in the corner of the room, effectively changing the subject. Leah was still thinking about Blake, though.

Everyone was on board with the idea, so Leah went back to her room to grab her guitar while the boys set their instruments up in front of their window. It didn't take very long for them to pick a song and learn the chords and lyrics. They'd chosen "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5. It was Blake's idea, obviously.

"Hi guys, I'm Reece."

"I'm George."

"I'm Blake, and that's some random girl we found on the street.... just kidding. Today we're joined by the brilliant Leah Brady."

They launched into the cover and it sounded amazing even though they were basically just winging it. A couple of times, Leah caught Blake stealing glances at her. Their eyes would meet for a split second and then one of them would look away when they remembered this was getting posted online. It didn't fail to make Leah nearly forget the words every time it happened, though.

Once they finished the cover, they saved the video and posted it to Twitter. Instantly, it gained thousands of likes and retweets. It was almost shocking for Leah since she still wasn't quite used to the whole "being famous" thing, and not even minutes had passed before the video was blowing up. Her phone began buzzing with notifications from Instagram and Twitter.

"You really should turn those off," George commented, noticing how her phone was lighting up just about every second.

"Yeah, I know. I guess I'm still not really used to this whole 'famous' thing," Leah replied, shrugging. She opened up Instagram and began scrolling through her tagged photos, which were mostly all recent. There were so many screenshots from the cover already. Those were some dedicated fans, that's for sure. She went through and liked and commented on a bunch before setting her phone down again.

Eventually, she headed back into her room to get ready to go out again. As she waited for her curling wand to heat up, she opened her phone again. Blake mentioned that he was going to post the pictures Leah had taken of him today, so she checked her feed and sure enough, he'd just posted it.
