Another day passed. Serenity was starting to lose hope. She was going to die there, all alone and rotting away... Then one day, the sound of footprints approached. Serenity closed her eyes, thinking it was the Govern coming to make sure she was dead. The she heard a high-pitched scream.

"AAAAAHHHHH OH MY GOD OH MY FREAKING GOD THERE IS A DEAD PERSON IN MY BACKYARD AAAHHHHH EW EW AHHHH!"

Serenity opened her eyes. Two feet away, a boy her age was screaming and running around in circles. Suddenly he stopped screaming and slowly approached her.

"ARE YOU ALIVE?!" He shouted.

"Yes," She mumbled. "And I'm not deaf."

"Oh," He said. "Sorry. You need help. Oh. Duh. Um... should I... pick you up?"

Serenity moaned. "God," she whispered. "Did you have to send me an idiot?"

"I heard that," The boy puffed. "I'm Carter. And I guess I'll carry you."

He -somewhat- gently picked her up and carried her to a little cottage home. He kicked open the door and shouted, "MOTHER!! This girl was in the woods! SHE NEEDS HELP!!"

A woman ran down the stairs and gasped. She rushed over and took Serenity from Carter. "Oh, you poor thing," she murmured. She set Serenity on a bed upstairs and began to treat Serenity's wounds.
