A/n: i hope you are enjoying the story so far. I am not that good because I am italian but I am honestly trying my best. ♥️

Third person's POV.

May woke up earlier than usual that Saturday and got up to prepare breakfast to both her husband and her daughter. She prepared pancakes because both of them loved those.

"I love these pancakes mommy, you are the bestest!" little June said chewing her food quickly.

"Hey, slow down or you are going to choke yourself June" she said finally sitting down to enjoy her breakfast—or at least trying to.

"You are right mom! I can't wait to go and play with Newton" the little girl honestly confessed.

May felt a little upset at his name and she didn't know why but kept on playing with her food using her fork. James glanced at her a few times.

What was wrong?

She was just going to take her daughter to the play-yard playing with her first little crush. It was a pure, simple action. The problem is that she was going to spend time with the man she fantasized about less than 10 hours earlier and
things were getting complicated. Very complicated.

"Isn't Newton the little blondie from the other day? The one who were playing with, princess?" James asked June staring at May. He exactly knew her wife was going to spend time with another man. And not just a simple man but the man she has been in love with once.

"Yay daddy, are you coming with us?" June pleaded her father.

"No darling, I am sorry" he simply answered keep on watching his wife.

"Why not?" the little girl asked again.

"Oh princess, let's ask mommy." James was now fully talking with May. "Why am I not coming?"

He had a mocking smile printed on his face and that only made May angrier. How could he talk about their problems with their daughter right there? He was being immature and she didn't like that at all.

"Your father can do whatever he wants to do, princess" May stood up ready to go have a shower and whispered the last part so that only James could hear it. "You are being ridiculous" and with these last words she went upstairs to have a shower.

After her shower she felt something odd—something she didn't feel in a lot of time. She was nervous.
She didn't know what to wear because she didn't want to be 'too much."
She finally picked something as classic as she was—a black dress with a pearls necklace. She fixed her hair and put a little make up to cover the fact that she was feeling so bloody clammy and dirty. She was staring into the mirror when she saw her little girl approaching her.

"Are we going?" June asked impatiently.
"Yes baby, but first we have to get dressed" She smiled while she was fixing her daughter's hair.

Somewhere in the park.

"Where are they? They should be here by now" Newton was beating the foot nervously on the ground next to his father—Thomas giggled and could not be prouder than his only son.

"They will come." He finally said looking ahead. It was more than a simple answer to Newton, it was more a silent prayer. He was hoping to see them, to see—her.

"Dad, may I ask you something?" Newton frowned—an habit taken by his father. Thomas nodded.

"Why did you break up with mom?"

"Son, it's complicated, you know. Adulthood messes things up. You think something will last forever and then it just disappears leaving you with a sour mouth. It's difficult." His son asked something that made him surprisingly open his mouth.

"If you love someone, you love that person forever. Probably you and mom never.. worked out" Thomas hugged his son tightly into his arms and whispered.

"Maybe you are right but me and your mother had the best gift we could ever ask for and that's you. You mean everything to us and this is not going to change, isn't it?" Thomas touched his son's hair while he simply nodded.

"I want you and mom to be happy" and—since Newton was really smart for his age—added. "Even if this means being happy with someone else." Newton looked at his father whose eyes were now glowing and then ahead and saw the reason being this glowing.

May was there

May was there.
The little boy smiled to himself when he realized his father was already inexplicably and utterly happy.
