Chapter Six - Dinners

Alisha

"You weren't wrong when you said this tasted like Big Mac sauce Alisha" Marcus praised as he took another taste of the sauce, I swatted at his hand

"Hey hey just wait for the food" I said when he gave me a puppy dog look, Wrench had already been scolded three twice and he had retreated to his work bench to tinker with his stick bomb design

"Hey guys" Kailey said as she came practically skipping down the stairs. I didn't turn from my spot at the hot plate, but I heard a few greetings from the group behind me

"You ok" Wrench had snuck up behind me and came to wrap his arms around my stomach

"Yeah just, creeped out" I whispered to him as I flipped the burgers one last time, his studded chin rested on my shoulder watching me cook

His exhale vibrating in the speakers of his mask "Yeah Same"

"We will talk about it later" I said turning in his arms to look up at him, he nodded and we continued to get dinner finished which resulted in Wrench nearly burning the bench down but as he stated "nearly but didn't actually "

"So tomorrow you guys drop us off on the corner of winter and red, Josh said there is an employee access door we can get through" Marcus was giving everyone the plan for tomorrow, using the scraps and utensils from dinner as markers

He pointed to the group of sauce bottles "this is you guys, these salt and pepper shakers are Alisha and me-" Wrench cut him off

"I wanna be the pepper shaker" he said arms crossed, Marcus gave him a look before switching one of the sauce bottles for the pepper shaker

"Anyways, we will access here" he said pointing to a a box of tissues "Sitara found out the guard routines and there should be guards here and here" Marcus placed down a few hand full of sugar packets

"Kailey we want you to cover the camera look out this time as Alisha will be on the ground, we just need you to be keeping an eye out for any surprises" As Sitara explained to Kailey her job, I just couldn't shake the sick feeling of having her be my look out but I knew Wrench would be there and that gave me a little comfort.

"I can do that" Kailey smiled sweetly in response

Sitara yawned loudly "well I am so beat, we are heading out early tomorrow because the security has a change over in the morning which means less security for us, head to bed kiddies"

Kailey jumped up from her spot "Alright I'm off to my place, I'll see you guys bright and early"

Me and Wrench had gotten into a routine of sleeping together every night, a lot of the time it was at his garage where we had more privacy but we would start missing our friends to much and would stay at hackerspace for a few nights.

Tonight we had decided on that, I think we both were feeling a strange vibe lately and as a child does their mother when uncomfortable, we clinged to our friends.

"Cyber driver marathon!" Wrench called the moment Kailey walked out the door and Marcus happily complied

We pulled our mattresses out but Sitara had already passed out next to Marcus by the opening credits and Josh soon enough followed suit.

By the second movie it was only me and Wrench awake our conversation whispered and the movie just a buzz in the background

"I'm nervous about you going into the field tomorrow" he admitted suddenly, I didn't blame him because I hadn't had the best record out in the field.

"It's ok Wrench I'm in good hands, I have Marcus as well looking out for me"

He took his Mask off placing it on the floor beside us and gave me a concerned look "I just, I don't know, I'm scared I guess of something happening again"

"I understand Wrench, I know I have had a few hiccups in the past but this one is pretty simple I don't think we have anything to worry about" I said hoping it calmed his nerves a little

He shrugged slightly "Yeah I don't know I just have a bad feeling"

"About Kailey?" I asked and he nodded before rubbing his face in his hands roughly

"I just get a strange vibe off her and it's like no one else is seeing it apart from you, like that shit about her watching creeps me the fuck out" I watched him visibly shiver

"Yeah It's fucking weird but maybe Sitara is right, maybe she just has a crush on you and it's just us feeling awkward" I offered before adding "I mean I don't blame her" I smiled up at him as I ran my fingers down the side of his face, the scar was slightly tougher than the rest of his face and he leant into my hand closing his eyes

"No one has ever touched my face after the incident" I could feel his words vibrate through his cheeks

"What about when it happened? To get it fixed up?" I whispered, our backs were against the lounge behind us as we were leant into each other creating a secluded world just for our words

"I just fixed it myself, went to the store after and bought an eye patch" he admitted

I felt a pang in my chest at the thought of a child Wrench, trying to fix himself up after what happened, it made me so fucking angry

"Thank you for letting me touch you, I love your face, I love everything about you" I said pushing the stray blonde hairs out of his eyes as he looked at me slightly shocked

"How" he asked softly and it was my turn to be shocked

"How could I not, because I have never met someone like you Wrench and because you make me happier than I have ever been in my life, the fact your the hottest person I have ever met is simply a bonus" I answered and we both laughed

"Fuck your turning me into a pussy but your beyond words, I don't deserve you" he laughed

"I think after the shit we have been through, we both deserve to be happy don't you" I asked

He kissed me softly before replying "Yeah, I guess we do huh"
