Chapter 26: Our Confession

Lucy's POV

"Natsu... I traded my wish, and my tail." Shock took over his face as he stood up in front of me. Was this is it? Was he going to throw me over board to drawn? I can't swim with legs? Omg what am I going to do... My thoughts were interrupted by the warm body that held me, his strong arms entangled themselves to hold the embrace. Pink hair blocked my view of the handsome mans face as he hide in the crock of my neck, "I'm sorry Lucy, it should of never have come to that," he muttered, I felt warm water drip onto my neck.

"Natsu, don't cry. Please..." I rubbed his pink hair gentle, cherishing him, reassuring him that everything was ok. He then looked at me, drying his eyes quickly.

"Why would you go that far... for me. Surely its not what you really wanted," I placed my hand on his cheek.

"I would do anything for you, you mean so much to me. We've been through so much. My father took my ability away to change my tail back anyway," I muttered looking down at the floor, I remember explaining to him earlier what had happened between me and my father and how he actually lost his memory. He wasnt so happy about that.

"But," I continued, "I just dont want to lose you, not again. I would do anything for you Natsu," I smiled sweetly at him, I saw a spark ignite in his eyes one that had been quite quiet before. But now it had erupted.

"Lucy, I've been meaning to say this for a while now. But, I've never had the chance," He placed his hand on top of mine holding it in place.

"I love you," he blushed furiously, looking away shyly. I was shocked. I thought he only wanted me for my wish, this can't be true.

"Natsu... I thought you only wanted me for my wish," His eyes widened as he took both of my hand and held them tightly.

"Lucy, you have it all wrong. Before I had my memories I was searching for a mermaid for a wish,  to find out what I was missing. I wanted answers to why I felt like I wasn't whole, something important wasn't with me and I couldn't put my finger on it" his gaze burned into my soul as he poured his heart out to me, "once I regained my memories I realised that I didn't need the wish to find who I was missing because I had already found them."

"It was you," Before I could process what he was saying, our lips met. It felt so right. We've been through hell and back, and now this was our moment. Our little victory. Our confession. The kiss depend as we poured our passion and love for one another into it. We slowly broke away and rested our heads together.

"Natsu, I love you too."
