Azora
I entered my first class, and I could feel it. The sadness, where there were more supernatural students then humans.
Everyone looked a mess, even the teacher who usually dressed his best was now in his sweat pants-it was just pure gloom and sadness, trying to function as normal.
I sat beside Karolyn, she was quiet with her head directed to the window. Science class wasn't going to be anybody's favorite subject, we all were thinking about the what ifs-we were all watching the security guards outside our windows and the fear etched on each other's faces.
I sighed in my seat, the teacher smiled lightly at me as he closed the door. He sat down at his seat, head in his hands as he took in a pained sigh-nothing could make this bareable to anybody.
"Hello class, we won't be doing anything to hard core today because of the circumstances but I'm here if you need anything." He said, his eyes held grief and promise.
"Who did you loose?" Somebody asked, it was the panther shifter from the first day.
"My daughter, she was 13-just starting out." Mr bill answered honestly, which shocked us because he never shared his personal life.
"I lost my brother." The panther shifter said, his voice cracking.
"Same." 5 others spoke out including Karolyn, their eyes glazed.
"I lost my mother." Erica, the pixie/mermaid shifter said.
"I did too." Another few said, my eyes widened.
"There are never that many adults at a school." I said out loud, Mr bill looked at me.
"The police were aware of this, the school had scheduled a job opportunity for a lot of the unemployed adults because the school was expanding in size by almost double-it just was the wrong day and the wrong time." He whispered, everyone just remained silent.
"I lost my cousin." I said, everyone looked at me with sad eyes.
"It's not fair." Nicole said, she didn't speak at all the first day.
"It's all your fault!" Nina suddenly screamed, she had been so silent that we didn't even know she was there.
"Whose fault?" Somebody asked, Nina was shaking.
"Supernaturals! If they would've stayed in their caves we would've never had this happen! We would've never lost so many people! My mom, my dad, my brother would still be alive!" She yelled, and everyone liked livid.
"You are blaming us? For humanitys' inability to accept the unknown?" Arielle asked, she looked Nina dead in the eyes with anger.
"You cannot force everyone to accept the unknown, it's scary-its better to remain separate." She said, Arielle looked broken.
