I felt on edge, every fiber in my being felt uneasy. I didn't understand why, but something about how he looked at me when he came into the room scared me.
"What's wrong?" Karolyn asked, I gave her a shrug.
"I'm on edge, but not because of what we've went through—because I genuinely feel like something is wrong." I said, she looked at me with a worried glance.
"Your flower hasn't stopped glowing since math, yet your in perfect control of your powers." Karolyn said, I hadn't noticed that I was still glowing.
"I haven't told you everything that happened, I was attacked in my dreams." I whispered, Karolyn looked confused and pulled me into an abandoned hallway.
"What do you mean? Attacked?" Karolyn asked, her eyes filled with worry.
"The guy who usually mentors me wasn't there for a while, but when I went to be somebody else had be chained—my mentor saved me, but the monster new my mother and when I awoke I was covered in scars." I whispered, my eyes briming with tears.
"That's horrible, do you think that he could be real—hell they both could be." Karolyn said, my heart shivered at the thought.
"Even if I wished that my mentor was real, it would mean that monster was real too and I couldn't." I shivered, Karolyn hugged me.
"You'll be okay." She said, I just kinda felt horrible.
"Maybe I should go home." I said with a sigh, rubbing the flower on my wrist that continued to glow.
"I'm worried about you Azora." Karolyn admitted, I looked at he with a sadness.
"I can't promise I'll be okay Kay bear, I can't promise that I'll be safe because my existence has so many secrets—I can promise that no matter what it takes, I will keep you safe." I said, my voice trailing off.
"I'm just gonna keep praying that everything will be okay." Karolyn said, but I could see the pain in her eyes.
Since it was lunch, I had completely slipped second period but the school wasn't heavy on rules today as I saw a lot of kids out of class just curled up in the hallways. I saw Bella and Blair talking at a table in the cafeteria, Bella was sporting red cheeks—whatever Blair was doing to keep her smiling made me happy.
"Let's go Azora." Karolyn said, we went and got something to eat and then sat down.
"Hey." Bella said, she had a huge smile on her face.
