Sky's First Halloween

Chapter 14 - What now?

Sky's POV

Whilst Mum was in the shower, she asked me to get rid of the Slitheen skins. I chucked them all a bag and threw them out the kitchen.

After Mum had a shower, she got dressed and called a doctor. Her arm was in so much pain.

The doctor was really nice to her.

"What's your name?"

"Sarah-Jane Smith."

"Well I'm Dr. Layla."

"Ok. Nice to meet you..."

"What's your injury?"

"My arm has a deep cut." Then she showed Dr. Layla her arm.

"How did this happen?" She Asked.

"I don't remember. I woke up and was like this." Said Mum.

"Young girl, do you know what happened?"

"I was at a Halloween party then when I came back, I found her on the floor, unconscious. I didn't know what to do so I bandaged up the wound and waited for her to come round." I Said.

"I see, well Sarah-Jane, I'll just bandage it up with a clean bandage."

The doctor helped her.

"Miss. Smith, did you by any chance have a party here whilst your daughter was out?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I'm not saying you did, but maybe you might've had friends over and went a little overboard..."

"If you're about to say I was drinking, you're wrong. I'd know if I was drinking, I just don't remember what happened."

"You didn't take anything? Like any medication or something?"

"Probably not. All I know is something happened to my arm and now there's a deep cut on it."

"Were you cooking last night?"

"Possibly. I mean, I can't cook that well, but I can't remember."

"Maybe you had an accident with a knife. That's a possibility."

When Dr. Layla looked away, Mum winked at me to say "yes it was a kitchen accident."

"Now I remember! I was in the kitchen, cutting vegetables and I heard loud noises outside, then I got distracted and accidentally cut myself."

"That sounds believable. You should be more careful next time."

"I will. Don't worry."

"That still doesn't explain why you were unconscious in the living room if it happened in the kitchen."

"I remember walking to the living room then everything went black."

"You probably passed out. Might've been a shock to cut yourself that bad."

"Probably."

"You should take it easy these next couple of days. I'm sure your daughter will make sure you do. Won't you?"

"Of course I will." I said.

"Well, I should be going now. Goodbye."

When the doctor left, Mum looked around the room.

"Look at this place!" She Said.

"Shall I try to clean off the slime?" I Asked.

"No, I'll call a cleaner tomorrow."

"What are you going to say to them? Some aliens exploded in my living room?" I laughed. She laughed too.

"I'll just say that there was a little too much Halloween excitement and we kind of got slime everywhere."

"That sounds believable."

I sat by Mum. She put her arm around me. I put my arm around her.

"Thank you for an amazing Halloween even thought we were attacked. It made it scarier." I Said.

"It's ok, nothing is too amazing for my daughter." Said Mum.
