Sky's First Halloween

Bonus Story - Sky's first bonfire night

November 5th

I woke at 7:15. I got dressed for school then went downstairs to the kitchen. Mum was attempting to make breakfast. I sat at the table, patiently waiting for her to finish.

"Morning Sky."

"Morning Mum."

"What's for breakfast today?"

"Toast. Here, it's ready."

She gave it to me, and I saw that this time she hadn't burned it. As I was eating, Mum brought in my school bag and put my water bottle in for me. She also put in a chocolate bar I could eat at break time.

Clyde and Rani arrived at 8. We walked to school, but we didn't really talk. I met up with my friends and we walked to reg. It was quite cold today.

Our first lesson was maths. We did ratios and I kind of payed attention, as did everyone else. After maths, I had music. We played on the keyboards in pairs. I was with Alice. It was fun.

We had break next, which didn't seem to last long. Science was my next lesson. We did work on cells, which I found easy and enjoyable. Then, we had a free English lesson so me and my friends played hangman.

At lunch, I was sat with my friends who had suspicions about Katie.

"Katie's disappeared. She won't answer any of my calls. Her house is for sale and her social media's have gone blank." Said Alice.

"The last time I saw her was at Sky's house on Halloween." Tilly pointed out.

"Yeah, same here. Haven't heard from her since that." Hannah added.

"It's not my fault. She went home. I was there. Her parents picked her up and that was that. Honest." I told them.

It wasn't honest but none of them knew about aliens. I didn't want them to know as it would put them in danger.

Soon enough, it was time for lesson five. It was a geography lesson. I enjoyed geography a lot. The whole Katie thing wasn't spoken of again.

We had computers last. It was another free lesson, so I played multiplayer games with Alice. We both had fun.

Our teacher was feeling generous so he let us out early. I met up with Clyde and Rani by the gates.

"Hey Sky, good day?" Rani asked.

"Yeah, it was alright."

"Good."

"Are you coming over tonight?"

"Yeah. I'll be there at about 6."

"And I will too." Said Clyde.

I smiled at them and carried on walking. Once we got to Bannerman road, we went our separate ways.

When I got in, I found Mum in the living room, on her laptop doing some work. I sat next to her.

"Hello Sky. How was school?"

"It was good. How was your day?"

"Eh, same as usual. Now, do you have any homework to do?"
