Always wanted to know the truth behind Loki's hatred toward his brother and father? Loki has a perfect, happy second life on Earth, pretending to be a mortal so he can be with Jane. Unfortunately, Odin has other plans for Jane Foster; she needs to c...
The next morning, Thor, Jane, Darcy, and Erik gathered around the kitchen table, the only difference being that this time, everyone was sober. It had become a familiar routine over the past few days: sharing breakfast and sipping coffee together. It was a pleasant custom, one that made them feel like a little family. Thor appeared comfortable among them, showing no desire to leave their company.
"Don't you have a home?" Darcy asked, her mouth full of sandwich.
"Yes, but I cannot go there," Thor replied casually, taking a sip of his coffee, savoring it as if it were the finest drink in the world.
Jane found herself watching him intently. He leaned back in his chair, a genuine smile lighting up his face, and she felt a sudden longing for him to stay with them forever. She blinked, confused by her own thoughts. Last night had been wonderful, sure; she had slept in his arms until morning. It felt lovely to wake up next to someone after such a long time, and she realized she had missed that intimacy. But now, wishing for something like that after knowing him for only a few days felt overwhelming.
Was she running away from her loneliness, or was this truly a desire of her heart? She didn't know, and for the moment, she didn't care. She simply loved being with the handsome, strong man, especially when he was casually dressed—or rather, not dressed at all.
"Jane." Erik's voice broke through her improper thoughts. She looked at him, feeling caught. "Hm?" she managed to say, trying to shake off her daydream.
"I thought about the things you said yesterday," he began, his voice carrying an apologetic tone. "And it is indeed a beautiful theory, but you won't be able to convince the scientific community without solid evidence."
Jane sighed, rising from the table. Erik was right, and she knew it all too well. Without the backing of the scientific community, securing funding for new equipment would be nearly impossible. It felt like a dead-end, and the weight of disappointment settled in her chest. She placed her plate in the sink and turned to return to the table when she unexpectedly bumped into Thor, who was entering the kitchen.
"Oh, sorry," she said shyly, stepping back from his strong chest. To her surprise, Thor's hand found its way to the back of her neck, chuckling at their awkward attempt to navigate around each other. Her heart raced as she looked up at him, caught in the tenderness of his gaze. She wanted to kiss him.

"Ahem..." Darcy cleared her throat, startling Jane from her moment of vulnerability. Quickly, she backed away, feeling embarrassed, and let Thor pass. She returned to the table, where Darcy wore a smirk that made Jane's cheeks flush.
'Get a room,' Darcy mouthed silently, her eyes glinting with teasing amusement.
Jane shot her friend a playful glare, unable to suppress a smile. Despite the embarrassment, she felt a flutter of excitement in her chest. Maybe things were changing for her, and perhaps, just perhaps, this was the start of something new. Knock knock knock.
