Chapter Five: Secret

5 days has passed since I saw Blade turn into a vampire. I was so afraid of him now, since I know more about him. No wonder that he seemed so hesitant when I asked about his life. And that also makes me think, since he said that his dad was a "veterinarian", is his father actually a vampire?

I was at the small tree sitting with Naomi and a bunch of pillows and blankets. It was a nice a breezy day. The sun was shining and the sky was a hint of orange with a mixture of purple and light pink.

"So you're saying that your boyfriend is a vampire?" Naomi just found this out now. "He is not my boyfriend first of all," I laughed at her. "And second, of all, as soon as he hits the moonlight he just turns." Naomi shook her head. "As soon as he turned, I just freaked out."

"You should talk to him. He's probably hurt that you find him "different." And how you just avoid him now because of what happened." Naomi suggested. I thought for a moment, Blade probably is hurt that I now find him weird. It's just that, I never met a person who's half vampire and half human. I decided to faze into the pink sky. The sun was almost setting, and I felt the sun shine onto my neck. I was hoping that God will show me the way.

I nodded and turned to look at Naomi. "You're right. I'm gonna talk to him." I spoke. Naomi smiled. "Good. I ship you guys." she laughed at me, and I couldn't help but I laugh too. I'm so glad I have Naomi as my best friend. I wouldn't wish for anyone else.

-The Next Day-

I saw Blade at his locker, getting his books and scrolling on his phone. I took a deep breath and walked over to him. He saw me and quickly shut his locker and put his phone back into his pocket. "Blade! Wait!" I called, quickly running in front of him to stop him from walking. "If you're here to criticize me, I don't wanna hear it." he snapped. I quickly nodded my head. "No, I want to talk to you." I pulled him to a corner so I could talk to him privately.

"I don't want you to think that I find you weird. I was just, shocked that I found out that you could turn that way." I explained. Blade looked at me with sadness in his eyes. He probably isn't used to not being accepted since he's partially a vampire. "Just so you know, I don't care if you're different. I'll always be here for you, and accept you." Blade quickly walked over and embraced me with a hug. I could tell that he started to cry because I felt him shake a bit in my arms, that only caused me to hug him tighter.

"Thank you for being here for me." his voice started to break. "Of course." I whispered to him.

After school, Naomi met me in the tree, and she brought Ian with her. I called Blade over to see if he wanted to meet us, he was coming in-

"Juliette! Down here!" he called. Oh, I guess he came sooner than I thought. We all looked down and saw Blade standing there. "Come on up!" I called down. He then decided to climb onto the tree and climb over to where we were sitting. "That was easy." Blade grunted. He got himself settled onto a pillow next to me.

"So, are the both of you vampires?" Naomi questioned. Ian and Blade looked at each other, then back at us. "Yes, we are." they replied in unison. "I can't believe I'm dating a vampire." Naomi looked at me. It was really cold today. And all I had was a long sleeve, I began rubbing my arms to create heat. Blade then put his arm around me and made me lean on his strong chest. Naomi looked at me and smirked.

"You guys kicked it off already." Naomi laughed, as Ian put his arm around her. I secretly smiled at Naomi.

"Y'all should come over and meet the family." Blade suggested. Naomi and I popped our heads up. "You mean, we get to meet your family?" I questioned excitedly. "And our pack members." Ian chimed in. This was so exciting, think about it, you get to meet a whole bunch of vampires and learn about them! I find that shit interesting. "Okay. Let's go tomorrow." I replied. Blade smiled. "One thing though."
