I remember my former place,
and its fascinating tender embrace,
But eventually it moved to displace.
My longing heart to my great place erased.
I searched and searched and searched apace
for something to fill the empty space
and I kept myself open, just in case,
that I too may find a space to replace.
And now, yes, I've found a new place,
One which lies beyond your gleaming face!
And I never, ever yearn to replace
this new and wonderful space.
Today I stand a glad man refaced,
whose waking moments all take place
within the sweet space beyond your sweet face
which I look upon and call you.
