You sat in class, doodling in your notebook. You werent paying attention at all, what you were really doing was staring at Kris. He was your Ex-best friend. You kept staring at him until you two locked eyes. you instantly looked away, embarrased, and started thinking about old times.

All your insides
You sat on the swings with Kris, swinging back and forth as you sang along to a song that was playing from your phone. Kris would sometimes join in, then stop. The two of you didn't seem compatable, but you were the best of friends. You did everything together. As you sang, Kris would hum along if he wasnt singing. Every once and a while, you would lock eyes, and smile at eachother, they truly were the best days of your life so far.
Oh, I could tell

That's all it took
When you'd look over and see him smiling, you'd know it was a genuine smile. You could tell when he was fake smiling. Even though he showed no emotion most of the time, almost 100% of the time, you could tell if he was happy, sad, angry, anything.
You shared your secrets

Silence was comfy
Without having to try
The two of you would have frequent sleepovers at eachothers houses, you woukd watch movies and play games and gossip. But even when it was silent, you could feel how happy you both were in eachothers company.
We swapped our smiles

When one of you would smile, the other would almost always smile back. Kris always said he loved your smile. You and Kris always complemented eachother, it was one of the main things you did. One tell the other if they were doing something wrong, or right. The other would listen, only to make their best friend happy.

And it was nice
But all of that changed when he met Susie. When they fell into the dark world together, it was like you two slowly drifted apart. Now Kris wouldn't even talk to you. Susie was his best friend now. Not you. You were left behind. Thrown away like garbage. You hated this. You hated him. But you couldnt bring yourself to stop trying. So you didnt. You tried, and tried, and tried, until one day, you gave up. The two most unseperable people in the world, were now seperable. And thats how it would stay.
