"Are you one hundred percent sure that you'd don't want your hair done? Quinn said. "I mean I'll braid it if you want. I don't have to cut it or anything."
"She's not going to stop until we say yes will she?" Hanna asked as Quinn kept pestering them for a good thirty minutes.
"She won't." Chelsea agreed. "But I suppose she'll stop eventually. Even Quinn gets tired of repeating herself."
"Can you stop saying please?" Chelsea asked. "I don't mean to be a thorn in your side or anything Q. But you're getting rather repetitive and we really don't appreciate it."
"Really?" Quinn said. "I hardly noticed."
Quinn continued to say please over and over again waiting for one of her friends to give in. Waiting for one of them to say yes so she could shut up.
That didn't happen. They both busyed themselves with other things. Chelsea unloaded the things she had stolen from her pockets as Hanna sharpened her nails with her knife.
Quinn pouted in annoyance.
"Don't give me the face." Chelsea said, as Quinn made puppy eyes. "I don't like dogs so that isn't going to work."
"You're absolutely terrified of dogs." Hanna said. "It's a known fact."
"They're so gross." Chelsea said. "With their pointy teeth and ugly faces."
"You're a cat. I understand why you hate them." Hanna said. "But don't call them ugly."
"I don't care that you own one." Chelsea said. "Sam has much better taste in pets than you do. So does Wuinn."
"Quinn's pets always end up dying in a week." Hanna said. "And Sam owns a cat and a chameleon."
"Blinky Jr. the chameleon is amazing." Chelsea said. "I may have stolen him a couple of times from her. I may even have him now. I may also have Lucinda the cat as well."
"You stole her pets." Hanna asked.
"No I asked her nicely and she said yes." Chelsea said. "I don't understand why you sound so surprised."
"Sam never just gives them to anyone." Hanna said. "That's why I'm surprised."
"But I'm not just anyone." Chelsea said. "I'm one of her best friends."
"Keep telling yourself that." Hanna said, placing her knife in her boot. "Sam doesn't have many people she considers her best friend."
"Who does she consider her best friend then?" Chelsea asked.
"Uma. Gil. Harry. Quinn. HJ. Heather. Helia." Hanna said. "That's pretty much it."
"Oh so you're not her best friend?" Chelsea said. "And I'm not. That's rude. That is a lot of people anyway."
"I'm an acquaintance." Hanna said. "We never really talk much. She's always talking to Helia or HJ or Heather not me."
"Well now that I think about it." Chelsea said. "She talks more to Quinn than she does to me. How tragic."
"Can you two stop talking and please let me do your hair. I'm begging you." Quinn said. "It's so boring in here. Working for my mom when there is nothing to work for."
"I heard in Auradon that working a child is illegal." Chelsea said.
"That would mean every shop in the Isle would close." Hanna said. "Because the kids run their parents' shops. It just happens to say their parents' name on the door."
"Quinn's salon." Quinn said. "That has a nice ring to it. Better than the Queen of Hearts' salon."
"A girl can only dream." Hanna said. "You have to wait to get to Auradon to open up a shop like that. It we go to Auradon that is."
"We will." Quinn said. "I'm sure of it."
"Well it's been six months." Chelsea said. "We're still here."
"I know." Quinn said. "But one of those VKs is bound to come back. Then we'll get our chance."
"I know." Chelsea said. "But waiting is so hard and boring."
"It is." Hanna said. "But you can't get anything without waiting for it. You have to be patient and let life deal it's cards."
"That was deep." Chelsea said. "Where did you get those words from?"
"Oh Freddie used to say it a lot." Hanna said. "She learned it from her dad or whatever. Dr. Facilier says some wise things every once in awhile."
"All our parents do." Chelsea said. "Then they rant about how they could've taken over Auradon if it hadn't been for their dear friends that live there."
"I love listening to my mom rant." Quinn said. "I never understand half the things she says. But it still is entertains watching the cards dodge her flying knives." Chelsea and Hanna looked at her with wide eyes. "Don't ask."
"We weren't going to." Hanna said. "My dad rants and I always leave before he ends up killing me by accident. Ranting about how Anna should have fallen for him if it hadn't been for Elsa and how he could finally have a throne of his own."
"Your dad has some big dreams." Chelsea said. "That probably wouldn't have happened anyway. Because the love of sisters is stronger than anything else or something like that."
"Well let's agree our parents' are all psychotic idiots hellbent on revenge." Quinn said. "And let me do your hair."
"We don't want you to do our hair." Chelsea said. "I thought we made that clear the first twenty times you asked."
"Come on." Quinn said. "Please."
"No." Chelsea said. "No means no Quinn you should start taking that as an answer."
"But I can't." Quinn said. "It wouldn't hurt you if I just braided your hair."
"I don't braid my hair." Hanna said. "I don't dye it or cut it. I don't need to start now. I just let it go the way it wants to."
"Let it go." Chelsea said with a chuckle. "You said let it go."
"I didn't mean it that way." Hanna said. "I'm not singing that bitch's song. Anyway let's go pick up Helia from her dad's shop. We are already late."
The trio exited the shop, Quinn hollering to her mother that her shift was over as they made their way to Hades' Souvlaki.
