Quinn walked toward the edge of the water, sitting down and letting her boots dangle above the water as she stared at the Isle in the distance. She'd never seen outside of it and it was kind of weird looking in from the outside.
The storm clouds had seemed to part over the docks slightly, letting the sky be visible.
Little did she know her blonde friend and her fake hooked boyfriend sat looking at Auradon in the distance. If she had it would have made her feel bad. That they were looking at where she was and she was looking where they were.
The ocean that separated them. She missed them. She missed Chelsea and her scaring the life out of her when she appeared out of thin air. Getting Helia angry for no apparent reason. Her just friends because they shared the same friends friendship with HJ. Her newfound rivalry with Heather. Her friendship with Sam even if Sam still held some resentment toward her.
She missed Uma singing her song everyday, no matter how annoying it was. She missed Harry and their now mutual hatred toward each other's She didn't want to admit but it had been catchy. She missed Gil and having to correct him when he called Uma by her horrid nickname. Mal had been so creative.
The floorboards creaked as the sound of heavy footsteps rang through the air.
"You know for someone who somehow managed to leave the Isle secretly, you're quite loud." Quinn commented as the Daughter of Captain Hook shrugged, sitting next to her.
"What are you doing our here Quinn?" CJ asked. "All alone and stuff. Not that I care."
"You don't care that's cute." Quinn said. "You wouldn't be here if you didn't. All you Hooks are the same."
"Explain." CJ said.
"Well you're all a little off your rocker and a bit off killer." Quinn said. "And you all care more than you admit about people. You wouldn't have stuck with all those people if you hadn't."
"There aren't many people I care about." CJ said. "But I care about you Quinn. You're like a more psychotic me."
"I prefer creative." Quinn said with a shrug.
"So what's your plan Quinn?" CJ asked. "Are you going to stay here? Or are you going back there."
CJ pointed to where the Isle sat gloomy in the distance.
"I don't know." Quinn said. "I mean yeah I'm staying. But I don't know how long. I can't stay long. I just have to get one thing done."
"What would that be?" CJ asked, tilting her head to the side.
"I have to get my kingdom back." Quinn said. "Well me and Maddie's kingdom."
"Maddie and I." CJ said.
"Huh?"
"Sorry Quinn." CJ said, shaking her head to the side. "Auradon is really getting to me. I care about grammar now. What the fuck is this?"
"CJ I've dealt with enough people having an identity crisis." Quinn said. "I don't need you to have one too."
"So how are you going to get your kingdom back?" CJ asked. "I'll help you if you want."
"Well that's great." Quinn said. "One more person added to the list. Hundreds to go."
"I'm sure people will support you." CJ said. "What the White Queen is doing isn't right. The people of Auradon wouldn't stand behind her if they knew what she was doing."
"Really?" Quinn asked. "I mean it'll take some planning but I suppose we can get the kingdom back. With enough supporters we can put that bitch back in her place."
"She really made a mistake crossing you." CJ said. "She doesn't know what she signed up for. Or what she got herself into."
"She really doesn't." Maddie said as she walked onto the dock and sat down next to Quinn.
"Who dares cross the daughters of the Queen of Hearts?" Quinn asked.
"Off with their heads." Quinn and Maddie said, bursting out into a fit of giggles.
"But in all seriousness can I keep her head?" Quinn asked.
Maddie slapped her slightly.
"Quinn!" Maddie said. "We're not going to kill her:"
"We're not?" Quinn asked, her smile falling.
"No we're taking a diplomatic approach." Maddie said.
"And if that doesn't work?" CJ asked as Quinn looked up hopefully.
"Then we can do it your way." Maddie said with a sigh. "I'm hoping we don't have to."
"Oh you won't have to my innocent little sister." Quinn said. "But I cannot promise that heads won't roll in your diplomatic approach."
"This is going to go greatly!" CJ said. "Two completely different approaches, only one will win."
"Stop sounding like a television commercial." Maddie said. "This isn't a game."
"But at the same time it is." Quinn said. "If we play our cards right."
"I don't like your puns." CJ said.
"Well sometimes I don't like you." Quinn said. "So I guess we're on the same page."
"How does liking her have anything to do with your puns?" Maddie asked, then she remembered something. A rose petal painted red. She pulled it out of her purse and Quinn frowned.
"Where'd you get that?" Quinn asked.
"It flew to my window one morning." Maddie said. "And I took it because I was confused. Who would be painting the flowers red?"
"You have no idea." Quinn said. "Never mind that. I'm about to be real and hit you in the emotions. Maddie if you need tissues go get them now."
"Oh quit being over dramatic." Maddie said. "Go on with your oh-so inspirational speech.
Quinn cleared her throat.
"Listen I might not have been the greatest sister-." Quinn began as CJ scoffed. "-but I want to make up for it. Because you make me a better person Maddie and I really didn't appreciate you when I should have. I shouldn't have used you or been mad at you for shit you didn't decide on. I should've been more understanding and tried to love you anyway."
Quinn paused.
"I don't know what the future has in store for us." Quinn said. "I don't know if we'll survive this battle. But I know I'll be fine with you by my side. It's you and me against the world Mads. You too CJ."
"That was so touching." CJ said.
"Are you-is she crying?" Maddie asked.
"No." CJ said. "There's something in my eye."
"Oh sure CJ." Maddie said. "But thanks Quinn. I don't know what I'd do without you either. I love you."
"I love you too." Quinn said, as they pulled into a hug.
"So we can agree here that were all off our rockers?" CJ asked. "Because I don't appreciate you calling me that, even if I am."
"Gosh you're still hung up on that huh?" Maddie asked. "Yeah you're off your rocker. I'm Mad as a Hatter."
"Well then." Quinn said. "You might be Mad as a Hatter but I'm Twice as Twisted."
Quinn, Maddie and CJ grinned, staring at the Isle in the distance, ignoring the thoughts of what the future might hold. But what they had now.
They'd made it this far. Who's to say they couldn't go any farther?
