"Hey guys what's-." Quinn paused as she entered the room, her eyes widened slightly. "Mom? What are you doing here?"

"What are you talking about Quinn?" The Queen of Hearts said. "I love here. This is my castle. What are you doing here?"

"I get your point mom." Quinn said. "You can stop right there."

"Why would you lock up your sister?" The Queen of Hearts asked. "Why would you do such a thing?"

"What's your problem with it?" Quinn asked, crossing her arms over her chest. "Why aren't you asleep? Don't you have a thing about getting your beauty sleep?"

"You don't insult me young lady." The Red Queen frowned. "Don't talk to me with that mouth. I don't appreciate it. It's tea time. Would you like some tea?"

"Mom I don't drink tea in the middle of the night." Quinn said. "I sleep. Which is something we should all be doing right now."

"Oh hush Quinn." Her mother said, waving her hand dismissively as she sat on a stool in front of Maddie's cell. "Let her out Quinn. I want to talk to her."

"You can talk to her from there." Quinn said. "I don't see what your problem with her being locked up is."

"She's your sister Quinn." Her mother scolded. "Treat her better."

"How'd that work for you and aunty then?" Quinn asked as her mother's nostrils flared.

"We do not mention her in this house." Her mother seethed.

"Queen." Chelsea said as the Queen of Hearts' eyes landed on her. "Remember to count to ten."

She took deep breaths in and out, calming herself before she had a tantrum and got in the mood for chopping heads off.

"Do you feel better now?" Chelsea asked, as if it was a normal thing to reign in her temper, which it was.

"Yes. Thank you Chelsea dear." The Red Queen said as she collected herself. "You always know how to calm me down."

"I do." Chelsea said. "I have experience. You and Quinn always seem to have tantrums. It's something that happens everyday."

"Oh yes." She said. "Very true. Very true. Now back to the matter at hand."

The Queen reached out and touched Maddie's cheek, slowly cupping her face with her hand.

"Oh how you've grown." The Red Queen muttered. "You took after me yes? What a beauty. And your hair." She pulled at Maddie's hair. "Isn't as curly as I imagined."

"Mom." Quinn groaned. "Please go to sleep. This is really boring. You're ruining my plan."

"What is your plan this time Quinn darling?" Her mother asked. "Because they always seem to work well. What are you going to do? Use Maddie as bait to get the wand? Isn't Uma doing that sort of thing with the king? Are you just using Uma's plan because you can't make your own?"

"I made the plan." Quinn said. "Uma copied me and kicked it up a notch. Now we have two people of significance in Auradon and we're bound to get the wand."

"I hardly believe in this plan of yours." The Red Queen said. "What do I get out of this? A daughter that doesn't fail me? A daughter who tarnished my name? You should be more like Maddie. She's gotten things done. She's made a life for herself. Something you didn't."

"She started off in Auradon." Quinn said. "She didn't have to work her way from the bottom, get people to follow her and have a plan fail because someone didn't want to take part in it anymore."

"You really have a bone to pick with your sister for you?" The Red Queen said. "I cannot understand why. What did she do to you that had made you so angered? It wasn't her fault she couldn't complete your silly little plan when the VKs felt the need to choose good. What was she to do when there were so many people opposed to it? When she stood alone? Not join the crowd? In Auradon it's important to be loved instead of feared which is some backward logic. It's like what I always say. 'It's better to be feared than it is to feel loved.' Those who fear you won't turn their backs on you as quickly as those who you thought loved you. None of them do. You cannot trust anything or anyone. You ah e to stick out on your own. Get people who will stand by you through it all."

"Mom I really think you're speaking from the heart hear." Quinn said. "Are you comparing me and Maddie to wheat you and your sister went through? I don't hate Maddie if that's what your implying. I merely dislike her. There's a difference. I know she'd help me if she could have. I'll have her back if she needs it. She'll have mine. She'd get me off the Isle in a heartbeat if she could."

"Oh yes." Her mother said. "You two are nowhere near me and my sister. My sister is the reason we are here. The bitch Alice even thought it would be a good fucking idea if I got to stay in Auradon. But no. Your aunty had to ruin it all for me. I had to build myself up from the rubble and start off on something new. In an Isle full off evil queens, evil fairies, there was no way one of us could be a ruler and gain everyone's trust. None of us could have the kingdoms we had at our knees before. These people were exactly as we were."

"I'm leaving." Chelsea said. "Before you continue your ranting."

"You go too Quinn." Her mother said.

"Why?" Quinn asked. Not completely sold on the idea of leaving her mother alone with Maddie. She was afraid she'd end up doing something to her. "I'm not leaving."

"Because I said so." Her mother said. "Now shoo."

Quinn rolled her eyes, making a big scene as she stomped up the stairs, angrily.

"Oh cut the dramatics Quinn!" Her mother called as she turned to Maddie with a grin.
