"Welcome to your new home," says the old lady as she pulls the car into the long winding driveway at the front of her house.
I stare, slightly in awe, as we approach the mansion. From here, I can spot pools with swans, wide draping willow trees, and at least three patios.
The house itself is another shock. It's four stories tall. There's at least three turrets and wide glass windows all around it.
"I'm living here?" I ask, gawking.
"Well, since I'm supposedly your grandmother, yes, you are living here. I have plenty of spare rooms, and we can go shopping for things tomorrow."
I sigh and stare out the window. The lady acts like I'll be here forever. But I miss my friends and I want to figure out how to get back to them.
When I tried the escape from the hospital, the doctors caught me. They were a little confused about the fact that the old lady was in the room when I tried to escape, but they still trusted her, because she was my "legal guardian."
We unload the car and I'm shown to my room. It's on the third floor, while the old lady's room is on the second. There's a floor to ceiling window on one side and my bed is a loft in a little nook. I even have a bathroom in my room.
I sigh as I look out the window, across the lawn into the forest. It seems like I'm going to be here for a while, whether I like it or not.
