The dinging of the door bell is an unfamiliar sound to Y/N, who is upstairs in her bedroom. She smiles a little to herself, excited to have the Baudelaire children for company. She walks out of her room and peers at the three orphans from the top of the stairs. Mr. Poe, who was previously in charge of the Baudelaire children, has just handed them over willingly to an evil man. He is forced out of the door by Count Olaf as the Baudelaire's glance around the sorry excuse of a home.
Y/N's curiosity gets the better of her, so she starts to slowly descend the stairs. Violet notices her.
"Oh hello, are you Y/N? I believe Mr. Poe mentioned you," Violet says to Y/N.
Y/N nods a little and glances at Olaf.
"What did I tell you girl?! You are to stay in your room until needed!" Olaf scowls.
Y/N's eyes widen slightly and she backs up on the stairs. "I was just curious," she speaks in a quiet voice.
"She was just introducing herself," Klaus speaks up with his eyes narrowed at Olaf.
"Yes, of course," Olaf says while glaring daggers at Y/N.
"I will um, finish tidying up their rooms," Y/N scrambles back up the stairs.
"It's alright, we can tidy it up ourselves," Violet says.
"No. She will do it herself, it was her order," Olaf snaps.
"But we can help though," Klaus rolls his eyes.
"No no, it is time for the tour!" Olaf waves Y/N off.
The girl heads back upstairs. She finishes sweeping the floor of the bedroom, though it doesn't really do much. The house is too far gone to make a difference by merely sweeping the floor. A few moments later, the Baudelaire's are sent upstairs.
"Um, I'm sorry it's so messy and there's only one bed. It used to be my room," Y/N apologizes.
"Oh no don't worry, it's alright," Klaus says looking around.
"Where are you going to sleep if this was your room?" Violet inquires.
"Oh no, don't worry about me. I'll just grab a blanket and sleep on the floor," Y/N smiles a little.
"But that isn't right..." Klaus looks at Y/N.
Y/N shakes her head, "Really, don't worry about it. I would be more concerned with yourselves than me."
"Why do you say that?" Violet asks.
"You do realize he is not related to you, right? Count Olaf somehow convinced Mr. Poe to let him take care of you so he can get his hands on your fortune," Y/N explains.
"He what??" Klaus asks, his voice laced with disbelief.
Y/N nods a little, "He's just after your fortune."
As Violet opens her mouth to ask another question, Olaf yells for Y/N from downstairs.
"Just be careful," Y/N says before going to Olaf.
When she reaches the bottom of the stairs, Olaf is standing there, waiting for her with a scowl on his face. "I hope you aren't speaking to them," he says.
"I was just showing them their room," Y/N rolls her eyes.
"Don't you dare roll your eyes at me," Olaf scowls, leaning closer to her face.
Y/N rolls her eyes bigger, and more dramatically.
"You're going to regret that."
"Like you haven't done worse," Y/N says and runs back upstairs before the old man can react.
