It'd been 3 days since I talked to Brett or Olivia, so I found myself in the company of Henry and Jayden since Olivia practically claimed Harmony.
After Olivia's stunt on Sunday night, things at the cabin had gotten way too awkward.
Brett refused to talk to me and I refused to talk to Olivia.
"Have you tried talking to him?" Jayden asked.
"Have you tried talking to him," I mocked Jayden. "Hm, I never thought of that.. yes I've tried talking to him! He keeps icing me out."
Is it true you're in love with my girlfriend? I couldn't stop replaying the situation in my head.
"Do you think he's gonna br-break up with me?" I asked Henry suddenly. I'm surprised Brett already hadn't.
"I think- I think he just needs time to think," Henry said.
"Yeah. Yeah maybe you're right," I said.
"What has he told you?" I redirected my attention to Jayden. He was the only person Brett had talked to since the incident. Of course, Jayden refused to tell me anything.
"Oh c'mon!" I groaned.
"Sorry C, I'm all about bro code."
I respected Jayden's loyalty and left him alone. Besides, I was just his best friend's girlfriend.
"Maybe you should try to smooth things over with Olivia," Henry suggested.
"No way. There's no way I'm ever talking to her again."
"It might be a good start," Jayden agreed.
"You know what, why am I asking for relationship advice from you two loners? I'll take my problems elsewhere."
Not that I had anyone else to turn to, I made a dramatic exit.
I had to talk to Brett. He'd been cooped up in one of the guest rooms all day, so I tried there first. I knocked on the door a few times.
"Brett?"
"Go away."
"Brett I just want to talk." I'd given him space for the past 3 days. I was no longer taking the silent treatment. We needed to talk.
I knocked a few more times but got no answer. I decided to sit outside the door and wait it out. He must've picked up on what I was doing and finally unlocked the door after twenty minutes.
"I'm sorry," I apologized once more as I got in the bedroom.
"You lied to me," He said. I could hear how hurt he was in his voice. He could barely make out the sentence.
