CHAPTER SIX
<< 六 >>

 [ NIGHT ONE ]

❝ z e r o ❞

SHE tries to not let the words of the Alpha bother her too much when it was. god bless, the anesthetic did not work on her as it should have. for five days she had to act all dead and everything, until she felt like a dog playing dead.

"welcome to the L.I.E. Games."

the Games! she has heard of it before. according to the Omegas, it was a brutal game that Operations had to go through to be sifted. the strongest would survive, and the rest, killed. normally only one would survive, either the Traitor or someone better. she had heard that out of the decades of Games, which only happens every seven years, only one Game ended with none killed.

she prayed fervently that this Game would be the second, but how many people before her had done that, and yet...

" 3,

2,

1,

the Game has started. good luck.

may the odds be ever in your favor. "

she did not believe the woman, not one bit. after all, they were the ones who set the odds against them, they would never want it in her favor. laughably ironic, that was what it was.

"ZERO!" shouts voices in the faraway distance. "I'M HERE!" she shouts back, doubting they'd even hear her.

the first obstacle, to find them and group together. each of them had been gifted - no, blessed - with their favorite weapon. hers was the katana, and so the sharp sword hung from her back.

the walls of the maze were, surprisingly, smooth and clean. the paths twisted and winded, and soon she finds herself at a dead end. the iron wall appears to be laughing at her.

she grits her teeth, and moves on.

she calls to the rest in their secret language, courtesy of Two. "KA-KHAR! URT RE SDEF TYHUG!" she screams into the air. it had no specific meaning, but she should think it meant "Zero! i am at the district seven!". after all, the sign before her said 'district seven'. there was a cover above them, so she could not fly up, unfortunately.

"KA-KHAR! YUTRE ASDEF EKFJ LKSDRI!" she shouts again. "Zero! stay where you are, freeze!" she hoped it meant. never has she really bothered to try and master the language.

"mary, mary, quite contrary.
friends and allies
bring them to me.

the spell works immediately. soon her heart almost melts in relief when she sees seven screaming idiots fly to her, bound by an invisible force. the spell dumps them on the ground, and vanishes. Five shakes a fist at the thin air.

"that was effective," says Seven, as he stands and brushes his body down.

"i know," she grins widely.
