Your gaze I learnt to avoid
That one I could not stand
The fire that it always holds
Could easily melt my heart
And creep inside of me
To break my walls down
Till it manages to consume
Even my heart’s fallow ground.
But, no, I won’t let it
Not even now, my dear
I can hold your hazels’ gaze
But you won’t see a tiny hint
Of what
And how much
You truly mean
To this heart you seek
Now, cautiously concealed.
