Will You Ever Be That One?

I did a mistake,

Admitting I was wrong.

I tried to correct it

But it’s too late to assemble

Another dream deferred,

A subject for another poem.

Tears so wanting to fall,

I tried so hard to hold.

A resentful smile appeared on my face

Altering the sweet one I’ve worn today.

I thought of a friend

But none came to mind.

Bitterly, alone in my room,

I let loose all I’ve kept inside.

Will there ever be anyone

Who can hear my loud unvoiced cries?

Will there ever be anyone

Who can decipher my heavy troubled sighs?

Will there ever be anyone

Who can see what’s warily hidden in plain sight?

Will you ever be that one?
