Like the sudden peeking of the sun
Over the rain descending from the clouds
Was the sudden crazy beating of my heart
As you intertwine your hand with mine
When all I gestured was for you to let me
Touch your chest; feel how nervous you were.
I felt like drowning in the deepest sea
When you rest your head on my shoulder
I gasped for breath and held it at once
Afraid that you’d hear my heart’s whisper.
Of all those sweet memories we shared
One thing I’d never fail to remember
When you stood in front of many people
Telling them, eyes on me, I’m beautiful.
