HOW TO MAKE RAJMA?

Wash Rajma and keep it soaked in water overnight. Rajma takes time to soften up. If you forget to keep it in water at night, you can soak it in warm water in the morning.

Take a pressure cooker. Put Rajma, water, a little bit of oil, 1.5 spoon of salt and 3/4th spoon of turmeric powder in it.

(P.S. Put water with open heart. 😂- My mom's wordings when I asked her how much water should I put into it. 😂😂😂)

Give two whistles and then lower the flame and let the rajma cook on low flame for 30-45 minutes.

After this, prepare the chhaunk.

For this, take 3-4 onion and small piece of ginger and chop them in a chopper. After this, separately chop 2 tomatoes too.

Take a pan and add some oil. Add cumin (jeera) and onion and ginger and saute till it becomes brown. Add chopped tomotoes to the pan.

Also, add red chilly powder (1/4th spoon) and corriander powder (1 spoon).

Saute for some time.

Mix this chhaunk with the rajma. Let it boil once on high flame and then lower the flame and let it cook for 10-15 minutes more.

Sprinkle corriander leaves on the top after it is cooked properly.

And this way, your rajma will be ready to have.

HOW TO MAKE RICE?

We generally have rajma with rice. So here's how we can make rice.

Take 1 glass of rice and wash it properly. Then keep the rice soaked in 2 glasses of water (i.e. double quantity) for atleast half an hour.

Now, for the cooking part, add ghee and cumin/jeera to the cooking vessel. Add to this the rice with double quantity of water and a little less than 1 spoon of salt. Don't forget to cover the vessel with a lid or a plate.

Now, let it cook till the water dries.
