Caedis

Caedis was sitting in the Great Hall at Gryffindor table. She was eating breakfast and talking up a storm with Krissy, whom she’d become quite acquainted with. All of a sudden, she saw two heads of blonde hair coming their way. Harry and Ron stiffened up. She looked closer at the two blondes, and groaned. Krissy turned her head, and moaned quietly. “Why here?” Caedis complained.

“Why her?” Krissy agreed.  It was Malfoy, and that Celine girl. If Caedis had known her last name, she would’ve cursed it and her to the deepest pits of the Underworld. “God, if she wasn’t pretty no one would like her!”

“Having a last meal, Potter? When are you getting the train back to the Muggles?" said Malfoy.

"You're a lot braver now that you're back on the ground and you've got your little friends with you," said Harry coolly.

Suddenly there was a shriek from the Slytherin table. The whole hall, except Harry and Draco who were still in conversation, turned to see what had happened. It was Pansy Parkinson and her face was a bright neon green. Caedis snickered at the sight of the pug-faced girl, her face being Zaelie’s favorite color. She looked over at Celine, and saw she had a triumphant smirk on her face. “La RINX!” Parkinson screamed. Celine winked at Draco and ran out of the hall, Pansy following her.

“Oh that was so worth it” said a black haired girl with golden eyes as the hall erupted in laughter.

“Harry, you can’t do this!” Hermione whispered fiercely to Harry. What on earth was she going on about?

“Harry,” Caedis warned slowly. “What the fish is going on?” Harry looked momentarily confused at her use of the marine organism. He shook it off and leaned closer to her. Caedis’s heart started to race.

“Malfoy challenged me to a duel.” He whispered softly. Caedis looked at him in shock.

“Whaaaaat?” She was very confused.

“Malfoy challenged me to duel,” he repeated. “Tonight. At midnight.”

“You can’t!” She shrieked quietly. “Knowing Malfoy, it’s probably just a trick to get Filch to catch you. And you do NOT want that. Trust me, I know.” Caedis’s eyes narrowed at the remembrance of Zaelie’s loud shrieks, and Filch’s maniacal smirk. She turned her head to glare at the back of Zaelie’s head, which was a table away. Convenient, eh?

“But I can’t just back out.” Harry exclaimed.

“Of course you can.” Caedis argued.

“No. Gryffindors’ are supposed to be brave. Malfoy will never let me live it down.”

“Harry, there’s a fine line between bravery and stupidity. What if Dumbledore hears you two, and comes down? You’re in enough trouble as is. By the way, did you really get expelled for the whole broom thing?” It was a stupid question, yes, but Caedis wanted to know.

“The opposite, actually.Don’t tell anyone this, but  McGonagall put me on the Gryffindor quidditch team.” Caedis blinked.

“You’re not serious, are you?” She asked slowly, confused.

“Yes, I am! I’m the seeker!” Hermione, who had apparently heard them, joined in.

“Of course! It’s in your blood, practically!” Harry looked at her in confusion. Krissy, who hadn’t heard any of this, smirked knowingly at Caedis. Caedis stared with confusion swirling obviously in her eyes. Krissy waggled her eyebrows and darted her gaze between Caedis and Harry. Caedis, realizing what was going on, blushed, a light pink painting itself onto her pale cheeks.
