Chapter 6: Sam’s P.O.V.

“Sam. I think going out last night was a really bad idea.” Linzie said through the phone.

“Why’s that?” I asked.

“Because Luke wants to hang out again today…”

“So?”

“So, isn’t that like cheating!”

“Not if you’re just hanging out as friends.”

“That’s the thing though… Luke doesn’t want to be just friends. I’m afraid to lead him on.”

“Luke knows you’re not interested in him like that. Also he’d never do anything to ‘pursue his interest in you.’ He’s a good guy.”

“Nice use of words.” She laughed

“Thanks I try.”

“So you think it’d be okay to hang out with him again?”

“Yeah. I do.”

“Alright.”

“Does Chris know?”

“Chris is on vacation in Ireland.”

“So… No?”

The line was silent for a little bit.

“What about you and Michael? Do you guys have anything planned for today?”

“No. But if I know him as well as I think I do he’ll be at my door any minute now.”

“Oh. Sounds fun.”

“Yeah.”

“Alright, well I better go. I’m supposed to meet Luke at the soda shop here soon. Yeah I know its so sixties. And before you ask, no, we will not be sharing a milkshake.”

“You know me to well!” I died laughing. We said our good byes and hung up.

Just as I predicted a few minutes after I had gotten off the phone with Linzie my door bell began to ring. Which is strange is because he usually just walks through the door. I walked down and opened the door.

“Hey.” He said sheepishly.

“Why didn’t you just walk in?” I asked.

“Well, I thought maybe we could try something.” I raised my eyebrow at him not knowing where he was going with this. “I thought maybe we could start over.”
