Chapter 26 Michael’s P.O.V.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Sam standing in front of the sink doing dishes.

“Here, let me help you with those.” I offered.

“No. It’s fine. But hey do me a favor and grab my butt.” She answered not even batting an eyelash at me.

“… What?” I asked as I stood there stunned.

“I said hey do me a favor and-”

“No I heard you.” I said cutting her off.

“Then…?”

“Wait, what? Are you using Frozen quotes as pickup lines?”

“…Maybe…” She said her eyes wide.

“That’s absolutely adorable.” I said walking up and kissing her on the cheek.

“I know.” She replied quietly.

“But seriously let me help you with those.” I said trying to scoot her over with my hip and help.

“No. It’s your day off and there’s not many here anyways. Go watch TV or something.” She said trying to shoo me away.

“But…”
“No buts.”
“You have a nice one.” I said winking.

“Michael!” She scolded.

“Alright. Alright. I’m going.”

“Good.”

I gave her one last wink before walking off and into the living room. I flopped onto the couch and flipped on the TV trying to find something to watch. Her mom walked into the room.

“Oh good Michael. Just the person I was looking for. I need to speak to you.” I frowned. This couldn’t be good.

“What is it?” I asked politely.

            “It’s about Sam…”
“I kinda figured that.” I replied.

“And her… well… her condition.” She said putting air quotes around the word condition.

            “You mean her cuts?”

“Yes… well… um that.” She said frowning. The topic obviously being uncomfortable for her.

“I know it’s all my fault.” I said quietly.

“No. No. No. I don’t blame you at all… But… I do blame your fans.” I sat quietly not knowing what to say. “I just don’t think it’s healthy for her, you know?”

            “What’s not healthy for her?”

“Your fans, the mean things they say, the-”

“The fact that she’s dating me?” I finished for her, she nodded. “What do you want me to do about it?”

            “Um… well…”

Sam’s P.O.V.

“I won’t end things with her, if that’s what you want.” I heard Michael say as I walked towards the living room. I stopped and listened.

“Michael. You have got to understand… her condition… it’s very serious.”
“So is my love for her!”

“Michael you’re 17. You don’t even know what love is.”

“Heather.” Michael started, calling my mom by her first name. “I may not know ‘what love is’ but I do know that your daughter means the world to me and I wouldn’t be able to live without her. So I will be damned if I let her go.” He took a pause.

“Um mom, I got the mail for you its sitting on the counter and Aunt Linda called and said she’d appreciate it if you could call her back immediately.” I said interrupting them. They looked up at me surprised.

“Thank you dear, I’ll call her back.” My mom replied watching me.

“Mikey would you like to go grab some lunch?”

            “I’d love to babe.”
