Chapter Four

Ember and I went to my office so she can help me choose everything "What kind of flowers should I get?" I ask her as she opens a folder with a bunch of pictures with different types of flowers that aren't harmful to us 

"How about Hydrangea's...they're beautiful" she says showing me a picture of them "What color?" I ask and she looks at it again, "Dark blue?".

I nod "I like that" I say filling out the form for the flowers "Okay we have the flowers and the food done...now we just have clothes" I say 

"What do you have to wear?" she asks "A suit...but I have one already" I say to her "Do you have any fancy dresses?" I ask her and she shakes her head 'no', 

"That means we have to go shopping" I say and she grunts making my eyebrows raise "I don't like shopping" she says.

"I think you're the first girl I've met that doesn't like shopping" I say "Well we already established that I'm not like most girls" she says making me smile 

"Do you think we'll be able to find you a dress in..." I look at my watch, keeping in mind the five hours Ember has pain free "An hour?" I ask and she shakes her head 

"The closest dress shop is twenty-five minutes away and thirty-five minutes isn't enough time" she says "Well I guess we're going to have to go tomorrow after we...yeah" I say making her laugh, "Come on let's go eat dinner" she says pulling me out of the room to the kitchen.

"What color dress do you want?" I ask her the next morning "I don't know what color do you think?" she asks 

Damn usually when you ask a girl they're like 'I'm getting this color and this style and you can't tell me another wise I don't want your opinion because it doesn't matter to me.

I look at her for a few seconds "Navy" I say and she smiles "Navy blue?" she asks and I nod "I was actually considering it" she says making me smile

 "Well with your hair being red it'll look really nice" I say and she smiles wider "Okay well we have" I look at my watch "Four hours and thirty minutes until the next wave of your heat...lets go find you a dress before it hits again" I say grabbing my car keys and we walk out the door 

I picked out her dress cause she couldn't really decide and her exact words were "I'm not really going to look at it so you pick one out and tell me if it looks good or not", 

 it's navy blue with thin straps and is cut out in the back, it also only went down to her knees.

"I'm glad we got everything taken care off" I say grabbing her hand as I drove "Me too...do you have any more planning to do?" she asks and I had to think for a second 

"No everything is taken care of since it's tomorrow" as soon as I said that it hit me

I'm going to be the Alpha tomorrow afternoon.

"Ryan, may I speak with you?" Mark asks right as we get into the door "Of course" I say before turning and handing Ember her bags "Text me if you need anything okay" I say and she smiles then nods before I kiss her forehead,

I led him to my office "Is everything alright?" I ask once I close the door "I've been doing some research on Ember's situation" he says crossing his arms "Why do I have a feeling I'm not going to like what you're about to say" I say and he nods "You haven't marked each other yet...correct?" he asks and I nod.

"Well...I hate to say this but the two of you need to complete the mating process soon" he says then takes a deep breath "Every time she's in pain from not being..." he clears his throat "Intimate it makes her body weaker and on day six, there is a ninety-five percent chance that it will kill her" he says "But that's if she's a virgin" I felt my heart drop,

"What is it?" he asks "She's a virgin" I say and his face drops "After you mark her every time she goes into heat so do you so that's the perfect window to try and conceive" he says changing the subject 

I don't blame him.

After a while of talking, I decided to go see Ember and tell her everything.
