Ember and I decided to walk home to calm down from what had just happened

I've never been that mad before and poor Ember was scared out of her mind hell I would be scared too if that shit happened to me,

what really pissed me off about all of that is it almost sent her into an anxiety attack.

"Honey are you okay?" Ember asks pulling me out of my thoughts "Darling shouldn't I be asking you that?" I ask grabbing her hand "I'm okay...but you're the one that is caught up in their own thoughts" she says leaning her head on my arm for a few seconds.

"I'm just trying to comprehend all of the events from today" I say while looking up from the road to see the house a few feet away, "It is the most important day of your life" she says as we walk up the front steps towards the door.

"At the moment it's the most important" I open the door letting her inside first "What do you mean?" she asks

"The day we get married and have kids will be the most important days of my life" we make it up to our bedroom "Today was just the beginning...it was the push we need for our lives to be amazing" I say holding both of her hands in mine before kissing her knuckles.

"So what are we gonna do for the rest of the day?" she asks "Well it's almost six o'clock... why don't we just eat dinner and watch movies or something until we go to bed" I say with a smile leaning down to place my forehead against hers. "Or something?" she asks with a little laugh at the end "You heard me" I say before wrapping my arms around her waist and kissing her.

After we broke away from the kiss, the two of us went to the kitchen and made dinner. Then once we finished our dinner we went up to our bedroom and...relaxed for a little bit.

"What's going through your head?" Ember asks looking up at me with her head on my chest "Our future" I say looking at her with a smile, "What about our future?" she moves to lean on her arm to look at me better, "Everything... you name it, I'm probably thinking about it" she smiles before leaning down to kiss me.

"Alpha Ryan?" a voice outside the door breaks out kiss "Yes?" I ask "The council wants to speak to you and Ms. Ember immediately" they say before walking away, "Of course they do" Ember mumbles before getting out of bed and gets dressed.

"You wanted to speak with us?" I ask once we got to my office "We need to discuss when you are going to marry Ember and when she will present to the pack" Harry says gently, "We can't even have the rest of the day to process everything?" I ask him before sitting at the table next to Ember.

"The longer we hold off the longer Ember is in danger" Harry says and I could feel Ember tense up next to me, "W-why am I in danger?" she asks

"There is one pack that we haven't always got along with and the for the past twenty years they have been angry at us, we have no idea why but we need to protect you at all costs until you have officially become our beta" Mark says

"So when I become beta...they'll leave me alone?" she asks and Harry nods "We strongly believe they will" he says and Ember and I nod, "So you two need to be married by the end of the month" Mark says "Are you serious?" Ember and I say at the same time.

"The sooner the better and we need to start planning immediately" Harry says and we nod "Can the planning wait until the morning?... it's been a long day" I ask and everyone nods "We will leave you be for the night and start gathering all of the things you don't have a choice about" Mark says as he was the last one to leave the room.

"We can never get a break now can we?" Ember asks leaning her head against the back of her chair "We're pack leaders... there's no such thing as a break with us" I say standing up "We should probably head to bed" I say grabbing her hand "Okay" she says following me to our room, we changed our clothes before laying down then after a while of talking she fell asleep with her head on my chest then I was able to sleep shortly after.
