Jaime was still inside of her as they lay together, forgetting the world around them. "How long do we still have?" He asked. She shrugged against him but it only made him harder in her. She pressed impossibly close to him and took in his scent. He smelled of sex and a bit like the sea, salty with sweat. His cock inside of her was going soft but she could only be happy at the notion that it had never once burned her. Svedyr was poison, she told herself as she looked up to meet Jaime's eyes. She offered a smile. Inside and out, he was a rotten man. Jaime is not.
"Stannis will be here by the next evening, I suppose," she told him softly.
Pulling her back onto him. "Does that give us a whole day, then?" Shaking her head, she turned towards him and sighed. "Why can't it be?" He sounded like a child and it made her laugh. You shouldn't be here, she told herself in her head. You shouldn't be laughing at him and with him.
"I have to go, Jaime." She rose from the bed and went to her pile of clothes. Starting with her underclothes, she knew the man was watching her. It was not the same hunger she'd grown used to around men like Svedyr, but an excitement all the same. When she turned around, he smirked and she expected him to invite her back. He did not.
With one last look his way, she grabbed up her blade and left him. He should know by now that I always return, she wanted to joke to the emptiness of the halls, both of us seem like desperate hounds for the other.
On the way back to Sansa's chambers, she heard voices in the walls once more. Varys has little birds, I simply get lucky in my timing. Pretending to be adjusting the laces of her dress, Vaela leaned against the wall to hear better. "Yes. Essence of nightshade is as dangerous as it is efficacious." She hadn't a clue who he spoke to but she knew the Maester's weak voice. "A single drop in a cup of wine suffices to soothe ragged nerves. Three drops will bring on a deep and dreamless sleep. Ten drops, however-"
"I know what ten drops will bring." She rushed away without a word. Wondering what the Queen would want with such a poison, Vaela took a long route through the castle. Men looked at her strangely but she wasn't afraid of a single one. They see me as Jaime's whore. Nothing more. She kept her head down and feigned fear. They would never dare touch his whore.
When she found Sansa, she was in her chambers with Shae helping her to pack. "One last night before the end of the world," Vaela joked as she entered the room. Shae smiled but Sansa looked at her nervously. "A joke, my lady, nothing more."
Vaela looked nervously from Tyrion to Jaime. Jaime, standing yards away, looked her way before looking back at his soldiers. "Lady Sansa, Val, and Sheila...?" She knew he was playing a game by pretending not to know Shae's name but she played the part.
"Shae, my lord." She said. Shae nodded with a bitter look towards the short man.
"Shae, yes." He looked away from her and back to Sansa. Vaela trusted the man well enough and focused on only the plan in her mind. She heard Tyrion speak but she wasn't truly listening. "Surely my sister has asked you to join the other highborn ladies in Maegor's Holdfast?"
