The sweet sound of birds singing their lullabies filled young Alora's ears as she pitter pattered across the forest clearing by the wild rose bushes.
She stepped carelessly in the shallow puddles of mud as she runs over to the dark haired boy who slumped on the arch of the oak tree as he did everyday waiting for her.
However, his eyes seem cold as he grazed over her once when she arrived.

Her eyes were puffy and red. She had been crying again.

" you scared him away kade! He was my only friend at school and now he won't ever talk to me again." She whimpered, the tears reappeared and streamed down her cheeks. Her friend, olyvar, the young boy who lived down the road and walked her home everyday after elementary school hadn't appeared that afternoon. When kade saw them together one evening he threatened the poor boy and Alora hadn't seen him since.
He scoffed, still not paying any attention to the sobbing girl.

"That's better off then, you shouldn't even be around that muggle filth." He scowled.

"He is my friend. Olyvar told me to stay away from you, maybe he was right." She managed to utter through shaky breaths.

At that a flame lit up in kade's eyes. He stood up, snatching Alora's arm with a low growl. "You wouldn't dare princess."
He grinned in satisfaction when she cowered at his scary demeanour. It was the first time Alora had truly been terrified of kade. The person whom she thought she knew was absent and instead a dangerous look took place in his eyes.
"I wouldn't want that filthy muggle filling your pretty head with such poisonous thoughts, love. Thankfully, that's no longer a problem." He grinned sadistically.

Her face went pale.
"W..Wh-What did you do?"she breathed heavily.

"Your mine."

She could never erase the image of that empty patch of grass besides the oak tree. The thought scarred her every time she closed her eyes. She pretended she didn't see olyvar's face plastered on every street corner as she walked home alone but she couldn't ignore it. She blamed herself.

 She blamed herself
