"Do you remember anything before the Aurors arrived?"
The man in specs peered down to the hospital bed."The Aurors came to rescue us?" Alora stammered in the small voice, obviously confused by the man's many questions. He adjusted his thin spectacles while scribbling a messy note in his notebook.
A heavy sigh escaped the detective's dry lips.
"What is the last thing you can recall?" He reiterated."Like I've said- i was alone in the department of mysteries, I saw a deatheater - it might've been her." She described for what felt like the ninth time in reference to the faceless woman.
Her head was spinning from a raging headache when she woke up at the hospital. The cuts and wounds she didn't remember getting were all patched up."That's quite enough questions! Can't you see the girl is exhausted?" Mrs.Weasley hastily hushed the man. "Her memories have been altered, there's not much we can do, much less force her to remember." She beckoned.
As soon as the order caught news of Alora being found at st mungos hospital, mrs.Weasley rushed out immediately to bring the girl home.
"I guess you're right." The detective reluctantly pressed. "I will be in contact." He tucks his files under his arm and nods a quick farewell.
The trip back to the weasley's burrow was unpleasant to say the least. Alora didn't feel the energy to speak and mrs.weasley didn't want to hinder the girl any further. She had given alora a set of ginny's clothes to wear which comprised of an itchy handmade sweater with a large 'G' woven into it's pocket and some comfortable slacks. The order were very weary of avoiding the floo networks in case they were being tracked, therefore alora was pleasantly surprised to find the weasley's making use of their flying car instead. The charmed vehicle was evidently battered and bruised from all the boys' previous adventures however, it was fixed up enough to have a smooth running engine.
Alora stumbled to the front door of the towering cottage, following mrs.weasley from behind.
The broken looks of her friends sent a rush of dread yet warming relief towards her the moment she met their eyes.
None of them seemed to hold that same childish giddy glimmer anymore... after all, they were no longer children. Each of them had lost something during that battle in the department of mysteries, namely Sirius black. However in return, they had all gained a shared experience that lingered behind their broken smiles.
The bitter remains of the summer break came to a slow drawn end and the seven students couldn't help but feel nervous when boarding the train back to hogwarts.
An anxious feeling of impending doom swelled in each of their stomachs as they passed by blurred visions of scenery by their windows. By the time the tall standing castle was in view, they were heaving a heavy breath towards what awaits them for their sixth year.Things were never going to be the same.
Author's note:
Hello readers,
Apologies for my hiatus, I've had a years worth of writers block and have been busy (I graduated university!).
I've always kept up to date with all the comments and I value your continued support. Now that we're past the mid point of the story and heading into the darker themes, I'll briefly recap:
. Draco is slowly drifting
. Harry is clearly friend zoned
. Kade is giving hard tsudere characteristics
. Alora remembers the backstory of her mother but her memories have been altered to forget any events that occurred after the department of mysteries (Malfoy manor incident)
. Lera (Alora's birth mother) was inherently a good character that was a talented student at hogwarts but got involved with the dark lord through manipulation. She eventually betrays him after falling in love.
. Also .... Alora is a walking bomb.
