~The next day~
It's now the afternoon and Sonic is laying on his bed, snoozing away. He was unknowingly snoring rather loud but, he was very comfortable nonetheless.
"S....." Sonic stirred in his sleep when he heard someone call out to him. "H...lo...So...." Sonic waved his hand trying to make the sound go away. "Don't make me get the water bucket." Sonic's eyes snapped open quickly at the sound of that. He came eye to eye with his father, Jules, smirking at him.
"Sonic?" Sonic wiped his face and smiled softly, "Dad?" "What are you doing here?" Sonic nervously chuckles, "Uh, I live here?" His dad pokes his forehead and chuckles, "Nice try. I just didn't hear you come in that's all." Sonic hangs his legs on the side of his bed and sighs, "Yeah...I didn't want to alarm everyone in the house." "That's a rather nice way of saying you didn't want to see us." "That's not what I mean dad." Jules chuckles, "I know, Sonic."
He looked around the room and shook his head, "Did you hear from your friend Scourge? He took off one night with Rosy and didn't come back or say a word. We're worried about him." Sonic groans and leans back on his bed, "Ugh, they're fine. They uh...went back to the school." "Yeah, it's about time you guys went back. Between Manic's loud music and Sonia's loud mouth, your mother and I can use a break. We'll definitely need one now that you're back." "Oh haha, very funny pops."
Jules sits on Sonic's bed next to him and folds his hands. "So...I heard what happened between you and Amy." Sonic jolted up and frowned, "What?! How did YOU find out?!" "I overheard Sonia's conversation with Amy and the other girls. Look at me gossiping." "Ugh dammit, man!" "Sonic, language!" "I'm sorry it's just...this whole town is gonna know about me and Amy by the end of the week. It hasn't even been a full day and all of my friends and my family think I'm a scumbag."
Jules sighs and pats Sonic's back, "Relax son, just tell me what happened. I'm not gonna judge you." "Dad I promise you it wasn't what she thought. It was just bad timing, I swear." "Sonic, re-lax. Just tell me your side of the story. You're my son, I'm always gonna have your back. Go ahead, I'm all ears." "It was all Sa-" Sonic froze for a second, 'If I tell him about Sally, he'll question me further about what I was doing with a wanted criminal...He is working this case after all.'
He clears his throat, "She...um...she saw me with another girl." "Heard that part." Sonic sighs and rubs his forehead, "Long story short, I go confront the girl about a bunch things I can't get into right now, and she just up and kisses me. Amy saw it all. I tried to tell my side of the story to her but she ran off. Now she and everyone else thinks I'm a cheater." "Why didn't you push her off when you saw she was making the effort" "She pulled into fast! I didn't know how to react and when she kissed me...I blanked."
He looks at Sonic with concern, "How did you feel when she kissed you?" Sonic leans forward and looks into the distance, "I don't know. I've kissed this girl in the past plenty of times but...I can't explain it. I didn't feel happy or mad...I didn't feel good or bad. I guess I felt...nothing. The only thing running through my mind was Amy. She was all I could think of when she kissed me. And when I saw how hurt she was, my heart shattered on the spot. I lied to her this whole time and that one situation made everything worse. I don't care about anything else...I just want to make things right with her."
