~Meanwhile with Sonic and Amy~
"Alright, Tails just texted me. He and the guys are checking the mall I guess." Sonic says as he and Amy sit in the car together. "Great. Well, can we just go get the envelope so we can meet up with them please?"
Sonic sighs and puts the car in drive. They pull onto the road, heading toward Amy's house.
As they cruise down the road, they eventually come into contact with the infamous freeway, which of course meant traffic.
"No, no, no! Dammit!" Sonic said slamming his hands on the steering wheel. He looks at the time on the radio and read that it says '5:23', "Oh, that's just perfect. Rush hour..." Amy looks at him with concern, "What do we do now?" "Well, from where we're located, nothing. I can...maybe take a detour once we move up a little bit but, I'm not sure how long that will take. For now, all we can do is wait."
They sat in awkward silence for a good five minutes, moving along with traffic. Amy sat deep in thought but, eventually became overwhelmed and turned to Sonic with a lot to say.
"You know Sonic, I feel like I would be perfectly capable of helping you with all of this. Especially after the lengths I went through last year." Sonic frowned, "Oh yeah, and look where it got us! Where it got you..." "I can take care of myself Sonic. I don't always need you to defend me, okay? I admit maybe I was a little...dependant on you in the past but, I'm older and I'm stronger. I don't need you to keep lying to me and protecting me like I'm some helpless little girl."
"Yeah, because you weren't lying to me this whole time as well." "What's that supposed to mean?" Sonic scoffed, "This whole time, since the party, you've been secretly talking to Mark. Flirting might even be a better word. The same guy who is partially responsible for everyone getting kidnapped. And he would've gotten you kidnapped too if we hadn't gotten there in time."
Amy snapped, "Oh you are so full of it, Sonic! First of all, Mark is dating Chloe, you idiot. And for the record I don't even like Mark but, at least he had the guts to tell me the truth about Sally, something my BOYFRIEND neglected to tell me." "Oh, he told you everything, Amy? Did he tell you that HE was the one who drugged me, in an attempt to have me taken away? Did he tell you that HE was the reason that Rosy was taken away? Oh wait even better, did he ever tell you that the only reason you needed to go back to the school, was so that those same kidnappers could take you too?"
Amy was taken aback and looked away from him, then remained silent.
"Amy I'm seriously not trying to be your enemy here. If I had told you everything at the time, they would've killed you. They were at your house. What choice did I have, I panicked, alright?" Amy didn't say anything in response but, slowly turned to look at him.
"Between you, and your parents, and these kidnappings...and...and," Amy squinted at him, "And Sally?"
He closed his eyes and rubbed his face, not wanting to face her at all, "I just wanted you to forget about everything that happened and just start all over. Just the two of us. You spent years suffering behind her because of me. And now that I know, I didn't want it happening again, so I hid it. You were already stressed about coming out to your parents about us, and I know you still have night terrors about...that night. I just wanted you to feel safe."
