Oufff....

Aiiii..

Grrrr...

Thud...

Forth finally relaxed back as he meets the ground with a great sound. He promptly fell down the first set of stairs and lay sprawled with his feet and arms wide open with a huge smile on his face. He admitted that falling down the stairs in his state was not ideal but he was convinced it was for the best. He exhaled as he heard Beam running down to him screaming. He tried to get up to tell him to be careful but for some strange reason his body wasn't cooperating.

"Forth!"

His angel appeared in front of him panting and face etched with worry.
The big man raised his head a little and gave him a lopsided smile.

"Are you fucking crazy! You almost got yourself killed!"

Forth fell something warm running down his eyes and blinked rapidly to not lose sight of his baby. However, his angel was becoming more blurred by the second. He vaguely heard his voice coming from far away, laced with the worry and fear.

"Shit...I think you broke your head open you crazy man....no no Forth, open your eyes and focus on me...come on, stay awake please..."

Despite the pleadings of his beloved, he closed his eyes and felt everything go black.

3.5 hours later...

"Doctor Beam, I think you should go home now." Mrs Curtin told him as she set up Forth's room, the room has only been vacant for mere hours and it already got its old occupant back.

"No nurse, I think I will stay for a little longer. I need to assure myself that he's fine."

"But Doctor, you have been on duty for more than 60 hours now, aren't you tired?"

"I think I can handle it, I'm used to sleepless nights anyway."

The nurse appeared hesitant but nodded after some consideration. Of course the doctor would refuse to leave his patient's side, especially when he kept muttering about all this being his fault. She didn't understand what exactly happened but she now knew that the relationship between the doctor and his patient was like none others she ever encountered. She was guessing it but chose to keep quiet, after all she wouldn't want to spread any unnecessary rumours that might not be true.

So she gathered her things quietly and left the extremely tired doctor with his patient.

Beam sighed and sat down heavily on the chair next to Forth's bed. The moment of panic was gone and the adrenaline that kept him sane and going was fading now. He felt drained to the core and his body was starting to tremble with full force. He leaned on his knees with his hands covering his face as he let the fear out. Tears formed and started to fall down in big, far teardrops. When he saw Forth falling like that he simply went cold and froze for a few seconds. By the time realised what was happening it was already too late. Forth had already reached the final step and was laying dizzily on the ground.

Others had come running at the commotion and after the initial shock the nurses immediately took Forth for a scan to check the extent of his injury. Luckily, he hasn't broke or crack anything, only cutting the side of his head on the sharp edge of the stairs. It was a small cut and only a couple of stitches was needed. Apparently Forth's head was strong like a rock, even the Senior Doctors were surprised that he hasn't broke anything or made his condition even worse. They could only guess that he turned out to be extremely lucky.
