Three months later of my mom’s funeral, school had started at Millbrook High the day after Labor Day. I walked out the front door and halfway through my driveway, I realized I’d forgotten my phone. I ran back inside the house to my bedroom. My phone was next to my bed charging.
Okay, so I found it. Here’s the ironic part to me was when I heard another phone ring in my room. RING! RING! Looking practically everywhere in my bedroom, I finally found the darn thing on the window ceil. It kept ringing, of course. I decided to answer it. I regretted it later on; don’t ask me why, I just did.
“Hello? Christine Daae speaking.”
“Hello, Christine.” A familiar voice answers. “Remember me?”
I couldn’t answer for a few moments. I was shocked to hear that voice again. “You’re the one who said you’d wanted to marry me?” I barely whisper to the phone.
“I never said.” He tells me. “I will marry you.” He sounded so serious. I decided to change the subject.
“So why are you calling me?” I ask, scared of the answer.
He chuckles. “Well, mon ange, I think you need to know that I’ve been observing you for roughly three months now, and I must say, you are one interesting young woman.”
Oh my goodness, he’s stalking me? That’s so creepy! And woman? Please tell me he’s not interested in me! How long had he been watching me? I needed proof that he had been watching me. “Hmph, I don’t believe you. Prove it.” I say.
“Well, you’re standing three feet from your bed and are staring out the window.” He informs me, than chuckles.
I groan. An idea comes in my head. Maybe if I just hang up the phone, he’ll stop calling me. Maybe not, but this guy has to get over me some way or the other.
“Angel, are you listening?” I hear him ask.
“Yes.” Then I press the end button. I look at my alarm clock. Great, now I’m going to have to rush to school. Leaving the other phone on my desk, I run out to the car and am almost there when someone calls me on my cell.
“Hello, this is Christine.” I say, “Who is this?”
“Christine, don’t ever hang up on me again!” Before I hung up on him again. I make it to the school without incident. I breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe he learned his lesson…

I walked out of the school to my car. I open it and sit down. As I reach over to put my backpack on the passenger seat, I see that a masked man is sitting there. I gasp and whispered,
“What on earth?!” I squeal.
“Hush, my dear, you didn’t listen to me. I told you not to hang up the phone, and you did. I was going to wait a while before I took you away, but you leave me no choice now.” He says, “Move over, we’re going to our new home.” He pushes me in the passenger seat. He takes the keys and drives us off. A cloth came over my nose, and the last thing I remember before blacking out is, “Sorry, love, I can’t have you see where we are going.”
