"Everyone's gone missing." Undyne said over a coffee. It was afternoon now, and she and officer Napstablook were sat at RC's, going over what they'd gotten from that day. "Our main suspect was Susie, as she was already in trouble with us and was last seen skipping Alphys's class with Kris. But she and Kris have both gone missing."

"Does Asgore know?"

They both fell silent. There was a really long awkward period where neither said nothing.

"I thought you told him." Undyne finally managed to say.

"But you said you would." Napstablook sighed. "Let's just assume he doesn't. What did you get today?"

"Kris went around knocking on doors after school yesterday. They spoke to pretty much everyone in the town, including their father. I saw them, actually."

"Yeah... they stopped round the police station too." Napstablook sighed again. "I just closed the blinds on them. Now I feel bad."

"You always feel bad." Undyne smiled, trying to lighten up the situation. "You keep sighing. What's up?"

"Oh...... nothing." Napstablook avoided eye contact. But that didn't mean anything was wrong. He always did that. "It's just... Mettaton's getting a little worse recently."

"Who knew dysmorphia could be such a beast?" Undyne knew well of Napstablook's cousin, Mettaton. He had longed to have a body since he was born. He hated being a ghost with a burning passion. And because of that, he pretty much refused to leave Napstablook's house and had become a bit of a recluse.

Undyne felt all levels of bad for him. She totally understood him when it came to stuff like that. She'd remembered being told that a skinny weak girl like her could never be a cop, so she had lifted weights, ate a lot, ran around pretty much every night, and tried to get buff as muscly so much she burned herself out for a whole year.

But she still didn't quit. She never gave up on her dreams, despite hard times. Despite all the constant 'you're such a tomboy, you must be a lesbian' comments. She didn't quit, she stayed determined and finally pulled through and got what she deserved. Chief officer Undyne. Say it louder, Gerson.

Mettaton wasn't like that. He'd been consumed by it, like Undyne, but he was incoporeal, and as a result, he couldn't change anything about himself. All he did was watch from windows as he slowly gave up. Undyne had never even met him. He was a bit like Napstablook that way.

Napstablook had crippling anxiety since before Undyne met him at cop school. She was basically his boss, but she liked him to be a friend instead. He was the only person Undyne wasn't afraid to tell anything to. He may have come across as slightly incompetent or trembling nervous all the time, but as far as Undyne knew, he was fearless.

"What about you, anyway?" Napstablook asked, thanking the waiter with a nod at the same time as she dropped off a plate of fries for Undyne. Napstablook couldn't eat it, it would phase right through him.

"What do you mean?"

"You were speaking with Kris's teacher today, right?"

Undyne felt herself blush, which made Napstablook grin.

"How'd it gooooooo?"

"She's nice. She gave us the Susie lead." Undyne focused on purely business. "Although that's a dead end."

"And?"

Undyne smiled. "And I gave her my number."

"I knew you'd find someone eventually." Undyne grinned. She hadn't seen Napstablook this smug before.

"You can't say anything, Blooks." Undyne sipped her coffee.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Undyne's smile slightly faltered.

"It means we both need to get some friends, ASAP."

As if on cue, like an angel from the heavens, two skeletons walked in. Undyne recognised one as the guy who gave her a free slushie from the general store. The other one she'd seen around, and recognised as his younger brother.

"Did you speak to those guys about Kris?" Napstablook asked.

"No, actually, I haven't." Undyne waved to the two brothers. "Excuse me, could you come over here."

"OH, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?"

"i haven't done anything. stop accusing me of things."

The two walked over. Undyne moves up to let them sit down. Papyrus sat down next to Undyne. Sans sat next to Napstablook.

"what's the issue?"

"Kris Dremmurr's gone missing. So has someone else, Susie. Kris was abducted from their home last night. We haven't spoken to either of you about it yet. Do you have any information?"

"saw 'em yesterday. nice kid." Sans sounded like he didn't care at all, but looking at him, Undyne figured he probably didn't. Papyrus looked way more concerned. He actually looked personally damaged by the disappearance of this kid he'd never met before.

"OH NO! THAT'S SO SAD!" He patted Undyne on the arm, "IF I FIND OUT OR SEE ANYTHING ABOUT THEM I'LL TELL YOU IMMEDIATELY. I REALLY HOPE THEY'RE SAFE."

"he'll work himself bone-tired until he finds 'em, y'know."

Papyrus looked absolutely disgusted at Sans's awful joke. It got an eye roll from Undyne. Napstablook forced out a quiet 'heh'.

"So you both know nothing, then?"

"nothin'"

Undyne groaned and slumped in her seat. "Right, you can both get going."

"actually, lady, if you don't mind, can we stay around you two? we pretty much don't know anyone and we need friends."

Undyne and Napstablook both looked at each other. Then, ironically, Alphys walked in.

"hey, look who it is. stopped by the store this morning. she's nice."

"Alphys, wanna join us?" Undyne offered. Alphys, surprisingly, stuttered out an agree. Undyne made Sans and Napstablook move up. "Funny, I just said how we needed more friends, then you three show up."

"Found anything about Kris?"

"No."

"It's a real shame. Ms. Toriel used to teach me in kindergarten."

"She taught all of us in kindergarten. Aside from those two."

"Yeah. I wonder how she's taking this."
