Starting Up Again

"Startup again? Do you mean you want to continue the FWB? It almost ruined us last time Adrian." I said crossing my arms over my chest.

"Don't tell me that you don't want to. We just have to work on things. Set more rules. And yes, it was my fault that we stopped and had that huge fight. I was a jealous asshole. " He said.

"Give me time to think about it," I said and Adrian nodded.

"Can you at least give me an answer before college starts?" Adrian asked me and I nodded.

"I have to go to and go home, I'll text you later," I said waving goodbye to Adrian.

I then got up and went over to my mother who was saying goodbye and thanking everybody who was coming.

After the funeral was over, my family and I headed home. After 1 week of mourning, we finally had a family dinner together. My motehr made pot roast. Even though nobody in my family seems to like. Beth also finally joined in our cnoversations.

"So, do you have everything for collge? It does start in the next few weeks." my mother asked me.

"I need a few more things and few more clothes but then I will be all set. I plan to go with Adrian and the group to the mall this week and go shopping." I said and my parents nodded.

As we ate our dinner we talked about me going to college and Beth's senior year. She seemed pretty excited about becoming a senior. She says that she will finally be super popular.

"Why don't you take Elizabeth with you shopping?" my mom recommend. I would have, but with the whole thing with Blake. I don't think it would be the best idea.

But I will leave it up to Beth.

"It's up to Beth. I don't want to force her to do anything." I said continuing to eat my food.

"I would love to go. Who else is going?" She asked me.

"Adrian, me, Jennifer and Blake," I said. Her face dropped as I said, Blake.

"Actually I will think about it," she said and I nodded. I knew my parents were about to say something over Beth's change but I glared at them not to say anything. They didn't need to know she was no longer a virgin and one of my best friends took her's. If they ever found out Blake had sex with Beth, they would no longer let me see him.

"That's fine. I plan to go on Wednesday. Tell me at least Tuesday night if you are going or not." I said finishing my food. Beth nodded and I placed my plate into the sink.

"I'm gonna go call Adrian," I said before running upstairs and heading into my room. I jumped onto my bed and grabbed my phone. I saw that I had 1 message from Adrian already.

Adrian - Hey! Do you have an answer yet?

Melissa - No, I haven't thought about it yet. Sorry... But I have news, Beth might be coming shopping with us Wednesday.

Adrian - That's fine. I don't expect you to have an answer right away. I mean this could 100% kill our friendship. But as I said we just need to put better rules. And everything that happened the 1st time during our fight, was 100% my fault and you can blame me for everything.

Melissa - it wasn't 100% your fault. It was at least 50% mine. I mean I agreed to the FWB and I should have made better rules. And I did call you names which I am really sorry for. I did act like a complete utter bitch to you.

Adrian - You do know that you can say no. I don't want to pressure you into it. You always seem to know what is the first thing to do. And I'm totally fine with Beth going. But is she okay with Blake going? I mean after everything that happened with them. I know they aren't "fine" even though they say they are. He did a pretty shitty thing to her.

Melissa - well if beth comes, she needs to learn how to be civil to him. They probably even need to talk over everything that happened.

Adrian - that's true. Maybe if she decides to come, we can get them together in the same room and make them talk over their differences. They use to be great friends.

Melissa - true. but I don't want to force her into anything she doesn't want to do. I'm not that type of person.

Adrian - true. So want to hang out tomorrow? We could just watch tv. Or watch some dumbass romance that you love so much

Melissa - lol, I just might be up to that. and I don't like romances.

Adrian - bullshit, you made me watch The Notebook and that movie fucking sucks!

Melissa - it does not! It is one of the best movies in the world!

Adrian - whatever, I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow. Love You xoxo

I placed my phone down and thought about what Adrian just sent me.

What does he mean by that?

I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I wanted to text him back and ask him what he meant by it. But I knew I shouldn't. As I said he probably just meant it in a friends type of way.
