Pilot

Dear Diary,

Today will be different. It has to be. I will smile and it will be believable. This smile will say 'I'm fine'. I will no longer act like the sad little girl who lost her parents. That's what Lena's for.

As I got up from my window seat, I headed over to look my self over in the mirror. As I was looking I noticed the pictures of my parents, Lena and I sitting under a tree. I reached my hand out and tore the photo down from the mirror and crippled it in my hand. As I looked back up at myself in the mirror I saw the time. Well, I guess it's time for me to head down stairs before Lena starts screaming at me.

As I walked into the kitchen I saw Aunt Jenna leaving. Before Lena knew I was there I hurried and grabbed a piece of toast and ran after Jeremy.

"Hey, so did Lena ask if you were okay again?" I watched as my brother gave me the look of annoyance.

"Yeah, of course. When does she not?"

"Good point, Also I'm hitching a ride with Tyler. Bye Jere!" After I was done speaking I ran to Tyler's car and hopped into the front seat.

"Hey Kat, what's up?" As I looked over at my best friend I gave him a glare.

"Really? What's up, you ask what's up like you saw me yesterday when in reality you have been trying to get laid my the stupid slut Viki! I can't believe you Ty!" As I finished my rant I saw him trying to hold back a laugh.

"Is that all, Kitty?" As soon as I heard him call me Kitty, that had set it.

"Just drive!" Sometimes I just want to kill Ty.

"Kat, we're going to be at school in a bit. I have a question though." I looked over at Ty to see that he was watching me.

"What's the question and hurry because I see the school." As I said that he looked back ahead to see if he could see the school.

"Damn it, the schools really close now. Any ways are you going to do cheerleading this year?" As we pulled into school I gave him the look.

"No dip!! I'm always going to do cheer. I'm not going to lose my damn popularity my quitting unlike Elena." As he parked he gave me a 'What the fuck' look.

"She's quitting?!" As I opened my door I looked back at him.

"Yeah, but Caroline and Bonnie are going to kill her when they find out." After I said that, I headed towards the school.

As I walked into the school I noticed Bonnie and Caroline talking with Elena. That's really not a surprise since everyone fawns over her. After Caroline walked away I headed to class. As I was heading to class I saw Elena walked into the boys bathroom. She's probably after Jere again. I continued my way towards class since I didn't want to get into Elena's wrath.

After school was done I started to walk home with out Jere or Lena. I wonder what will happen this year. I know something's going to happen because well when does something not happen? As I came to my street I saw that Elena still wasn't home. Oh, well. I guess I get the house to myself.

I was laying on my bed as I heard Lena talking to Aunt Jenna. She was saying something about going to The Mystic Grill. I honestly don't understand why everyone always fawns over her.

As school went by I was mindlessly doodling in my journal.

"Katerina!" As I heard my name called I had jumped in my seat a little. I set my pencil down and looked up at the teacher.

"Yes?" I put my best puppy dog face on my eyes and made a few tears escape my eyes.

"Uh, Miss Gilbert would you like to be dismissed from class? I would be okay with dismissing you to go home early if you would like." As I heard the words I wanted to hear I smiled evilly inside my head.

"Thank you! I'm so sorry for being a bother!"

"It's not a bother at all Miss Gilbert, I hope you feel better." As I grabbed all my bags I headed towards the door to leave, but first I gave the teacher a hug so that I will be able to keep him under my charms. I started my way down the halls to the front of the building so that I could leave when I bumped into somebody causing me to fall to the ground.

"Ouch!" I yelped out as I had felt somebody bump into me hard.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Elena!" I glared up at the person who had called me Elena.

"I'm not Elena." As soon as those words left my lips I felt his hand go around my neck and start to squeeze.

"Katherine what are you doing here?" While he was chocking me. I managed to kick him hard where the sun don't shine and after I did that, I ran.

I was laying down on my bed listening to my music as I waited for Elena and Jere to get back from the party. I wonder if Elena was the party pooper. Well, I guess I'll never know. As the hour slipped by I started to slip into sleep. I could feel my eyes get heavier. I wonder if anyone will ever notice that I'm not the same as Elena. I'm me, not her.

Със златна юздица." As I opened my eyes to this woman's voice I recognized her. She was the woman who would come everyday to sing me to sleep or to hold me. This woman is so pretty. As I went to get her attention I made gurgling sounds. She looked down at me then back up to the lady behind her.

"Isobel, I'm coming back for her when she turns 17. Do you understand me?" As I heard the woman talk in a demanding voice it grabbed my attention instantly.

"Yes, I understand Katherine. Katerina will be going to live with her twin sister at the Gilbert's house." I watched as the woman's head snapped up so quickly.

"Why are you sending her there! They'll find her, you can't have two Doppelgängers in the same area! Are you stupid or what!" As the woman yelled at the other one I noticed how the one was terrified.

"Katherine, Katerina will be fine. She's like you, different. Her eyes change on the full moon to a different color. They do that because during that time span if anything supernatural happens to her then she will come back to life. It's a gift from a witch. Just like when your father did that to you. Only difference is that your a vampire and it still does the same thing to you, but your not human." As the one woman stopped speaking, I looked up at the woman holding me.

"Go to sleep, Katerina. I promise you I'll be back. Just forget me till you turn 17 and when the time gets closer to him finding you, I want you to remember me and find me. Goodnight, Katerina."

In a flash I woke up from my dream and sat up. As I was almost fully awake I saw that I had two messages on my phone. When I checked the messages, I was shocked and scared.

Lena - Viki is in the hospital

The second one scared me though.

Unknown Number - He's coming... you need to be gone before the next full moon. Please don't stay there in Mystic Falls. I don't want you dead. I promised that I would come back for you and I will, but you need to run. Also, Do not trust the Salvatore brothers.
