for the sixth time that day, harry's mouth shot open in a gasp. he'd felt his phone vibrate and had cringed looking at the notification.
'you really think he ever liked you? you're such a dreamer boo xx'
the message shouldn't have been a shock as so many of them had already come through that morning, but the young boy felt too upset to think rationally. it was now one day from louis' birthday and this anonymous texter was attempting to make it miserable for harry. he didn't want to bring louis into the situation, but it was getting too much.
"lou?" he questioned when the older lad picked up the phone.
"yeah darling?"
"can you help me with something, please?" he bit his lip.
"of course, baby," he immediately sounded worried, "what is it?"
"i've been getting some weird messages from an unknown number," the boy explained, "they're saying things about you."
louis audibly gritted his teeth, "what things?"
"whoever it is, is saying that you don't love me and that i should break up with you. all rubbish like that," harry sighed, "but it's kinda hurtful- even though i know none of it's true."
"harry," louis said sternly, "i know who that is."
the younger was stunned, "who?!"
"when we were fake together for the second time, eleanor stole my phone for like two hours. i found your number written in a notepad the next day," he said, "i yelled at her and ordered her to bin it, but apparently she decided not to."
"why would she?" harry asked, tears springing at his eyes.
"because she's a lying, scheming monster," he simply declared. harry giggled.
"what are you gonna do?"
"i'm going to have a very strong word with my father."
"your father?"
"i know he's set her up to this," louis sneered, "and i'm gonna stop him. i promise, babe."
"ok but," harry heaved a deep breath, "not today."
"why not?"
"i want you to enjoy your last day of being eighteen," he smiled.
"thank you, sweetheart, always thinking of others before yourself," louis seemed very grateful for harry's kindness.
"i love you."
"love you too."
he hung up. eleanor. of course it was. who else would it have been? she'd been taking up harry's mind far too much at the moment and he needed to get rid of her. get rid of her dark hair and eyes, her slim figure and bright, fake smile. he could see why any man would be attracted to her. she was extremely pretty, especially at just nineteen, and harry's thoughts travelled to her relationship with louis. what if she was right? what if he did love her more...
the green eyed boy shook it off and stood up from the wooden desk chair he was sitting on. after waving a quick goodbye to anne, the green-eyed teenager left his house and set off down the street. he was planning on going to the mall, had been for days, to buy louis' birthday and christmas present. however, harry was still undecided on what he was going to buy his boyfriend. as he walked, the lad pondered on what would be the perfect gift.
when harry arrived at the shopping centre, his attention was immediately drawn to a certain store. it was one he'd been into many times, but had never purchased from. it was an old kinda thrifty music shop with many second hand instruments and vinyls. harry used to go in every sunday with liam and check out the new stocks. of course, they never bought anything, but it was interesting nonetheless.
