with melted sand I can see the world
with clarity I've never seen since childhood
with them the world is complete
with them my identity not truly seen
without them I see a cloak
without them I see not lines
without them I see probability
without them I see not faces
I see character.
without them I see not assumptions
without them I see myself.

I wasn't always wearing glasses. But ever since I did, I never stopped needing them. The few moments before sleeping, after waking, when bathing and when washing my face are about the only times I part with it. And maybe that's why I forgot what the world through my eyes looked like. Only looking at it like everybody else. This is for the people who live everyday trying to fit in:
