Romantics' Deaths

Every time you live in fantasy
You must understand,
You will cry.

Every time you forsake what is real
You must understand,
You will die.

For the sweet promises of apparitions
Constructed by the mind
Never stop haunting you
Until your demise.

When what ifs turn to regrets
Time, you cannot regress.
So you live everyday
Dying a thousand deaths.

I, myself, have been ensnared by the whispers of my mind. The desire presented by possibility taints my memories with painful hope. What I imagined as possibility, haunts me sometimes, even now. And each time it kills me. So to those who can't help but dream like me:

To the romantics
May your deaths hurt a little less
